So, immediately after I finished the editing and publishing of my last video, I immediately began thinking over what specifically it was about this patch that irked me, annoyed me, and generally prevented me from wanting to play and engage.  Most of the offenders were discussed in that video, but there were a few more that were revealed by further play.

Griping without proposing a solution is time wasted; on the off chance that your complaints are taken seriously and something is done...if those in power who make the changes don't know what you would like, or what would make you play more, they are left to guess and may not independently arrive at the conditions you want.  In fact, left to probability the chances that they do independently conclude the same things you do are actually very slim.

So, here it is.  My evaluation of the most terrible things in 2.0.5 and how to make them not terrible.  More than that, these suggestions leave most of what was brought to us in 2.0.5 in the game in one manner or another but altered to promote fun and long term play alike.

1.  Specialist Aircraft.  Specialist aircraft remain in the game, but not as currently designed.  All aircraft, be they premium or tech line, have ALL of their equipment and consumable slots unlocked and available for use upon research or purchase.  Specialist aircraft instead are tech-tree aircraft only, and when a tech line aircraft becomes Specialist its economics are altered to perform in the exact same manner as a premium aircraft of the same class and tier for credit and xp generation only.  These Specialist aircraft still must have a crew trained specifically for them for crew abilities to function at full effect.

2.  Specialist Aircraft Mission.  Get rid of the Victory requirement to advance.  If I'm spending time in the game I expect every minute spent to advance my goals in a very linear manner.  In 2.0 particularly solo carrying is an impossibility, so stop punishing us for having stupid team mates and useless bots.  If I'm playing, I'm advancing.  Period.

3.  Consumables.  Make all consumable slots available on all aircraft; this is part of changing the Specialist status from something terrible to something good.  Furthermore, unlock the consumable placements and let us use them in the order we choose.  Also, give us an additional "Embellishment" consumable slot that can mount only the non-combat consumables like Smoke Flares, Sparklers and Firework Rockets.  A parting shot on this; you may want to rethink bringing back things like High Octane Fuel, which you stated was OP and Game Breaking back when you removed it over two years ago.

4.  Equipment.  Remove all negatives from all equipment immediately.  Combined with the limited consumable slots these are restricting fun and making it a chore to play your game.  That does not result in increased concurrent player logins and more battles played.  Quite the opposite, really.  The greater variety of equipment now available is completely overshadowed by these negatives and the needlessly complex Improvement system.  The base level of all equipment should be available for credit purchase with no negatives, regardless of aircraft class or player skill.

5.  Equipment Improvement.  This system is needlessly complex, obtuse and arcane.  Add to that the RNG element of "maybe you get nothing" and "maybe you don't get what you want" and the system is just horrible.  I would want this completely removed, but since you've already made the mistake of SELLING this advantage we can't do that, now can we?  But what you CAN do is remove the failure chance RNG aspect, allow players to collect their salvage whether the battle was a win or a loss and allow us to choose what we improve and how we improve it once the required materials are gathered.  Give reduced salvage on a loss, but give us something.  And finally STOP selling this advantage in the premium shop.

Agree?  Disagree?  Post your thoughts and let's discuss how to fix this!

Good hunting!

2. Agree, Victory conditions should be removed. For all the reasons you say and don't forget, you are an experienced player that is more than capable of carrying. Newer players will get frustrated very fast by not advancing due to losing.

4. Why put a negative in the game for any reason? Once again not good for newer players by reducing their ability ( but a hard and fast rule for me is never reduce speed or maneuverability except for attack/bombers)

5. Complex is not good. We want to play not perform rocket surgery.

You forgot to include fixing broken things before reinventing the wheel.

Well that goes without saying.  I'll leave it to people who are actually actively playing this hot mess right now to report the new bugs and those that still persist from six months to a year ago.

agree with what you say ,but as for premiums i paid cash for had 3 equipment and 3 coumsumables now the lower tiers get 2 if you get specialisation

The second thing with premiums you already paid cash once now when you grind it up you have to pay again close to 800,000 how is any of that fair

My low tiers are now worse off than when i first bought them

So with this change Specialist is basically bonus credits and crew XP? If so, I'm in :great:

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

Listen again.  My position on Premiums is that they have their prior Equipment and Consumable slots unlocked immediately.  If the higher tier aircraft get access to more than 3/3, then the premiums of that tier get that as well.

You forgot to include fixing broken things before reinventing the wheel.

Remember, WoWS does have equipments and skills that have tradeoffs e.g. main gun upgrade that increase traverse but increase reload speed and vice versa, and the smoke module which makes smoke generator go longer but last for less duration...skill that increases torpedo speed but reduce range which makes certain torpedoes essentially useless when otherwise without, better penetrating HE skill that set less fire (that one got buffed)...

The problem here is that literally everything have negatives that scales with the positives...and certain necessary improvements (namely, AA resistance) are essentially RNG plus grindwall. Although this regime allows unprecedented stacking of certain characteristics (certain fighters can take cockpit armor and two airframe parts and attempt to roll AA resistance on all of them for well beyond Livery's 30%, for example) and improvements that could not be done before (e.g. rate of fire and ordnance reload rate)...it seem to have wreck the balance so badly that negatives have to be used as disincentive, and this mess have taken shape.

Seriously though, even if first aid and extinguisher cannot be mounted in the same space (what plane has two cockpit consumable slots?) verifications should get their own slots at least.

Missions not only should have victory condition removed (it only adds tedium and not incentive for skilled play as one would try hard to play to the objective and fail even harder) but rethought with consideration on how things are done in practice. Capture points for bombers here is the main culprit, given that one needs THOUSANDS of those to achieve specialist while you need to score at least 400 in one life for an epic achievement, and an epic achievement implies that you do a very significant thing in a battle. You either expect bomber players to constantly get Doolittle Medal and win or you simply scale those numbers randomly and put it in as requirements. Same goes for Multirole fighters, as certain ones carry unsuitable ordnance for ground attack or none at all...and either fix the points calculation for destroyed planes or just turn them into flat number of aircrafts destroyed, as when calculated many tiers of MRF actually take more plane kills than the equivalent LF to achieve specialist status. That is not making any sense.

I think one is supposed to work those equipments from the ground up as one can start accumulating those junk right from the beginning...the problem is, there are existing players who have played for up to four years, and you are telling them to start from scratch too. An attempt at equal start, or alienation?

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Lots of good points.

I just look at things like they are now as a raging out of control dumpster fire.

Lets sell our best planes and buy them back again...I think I will sell my truck for 12,000, then buy it back for 15,000. Or I could just give him 3,000 and call it even !

That last arrangement would also save you the taxes on the income of selling your truck!  :teethhappy:

Edit:  To put this analogy into game terms.  WG wants us to keep our planes; otherwise our hangars would never fill up and they would never make money from us buying gold to unlock more slots when necessary.

So....if you make a plane completely undesirable to fly unless a large amount of time or money is first sunk into it to make it playable at an acceptable baseline of performance...I think a lot of players would rather just sell little-flown planes than try to grind out the Specialist mission as-released in 2.0.5.  I think the likelihood of anyone spending money to skip the grind on a plane flown rarely is also quite low.

First .....ty for all training video's that you take time for, to make for all of us. You always seem to post good information & tech stuff for us to use everyday here on Wowp.  Had to laugh a little listening to your last 2, guess they got too you also. It appears that the level of frustration here is at a new level high. So if they don't make some of the changes that your recommending ( if not all of them ) then, it must just come down to Cash Grabbing tactic's on their part. They now seem to be making grinding so difficult, that we'll have no choice .... but to buy those dam crates, to ease our gaming time & pain of grinding our favorite planes. You were right when you said the game use to be Fun to play, they somehow lost that idea, & with the level of anger & frustration,& now they seem to have lost sight of what their members want & expect in a on-line flying game. Wowp needs to wake up, & make it fun again before players start looking elsewhere.

Why did they removed birthdays and never give it back to begin with?

That could've gone quite well by giving players annual chunks of tuning materials along with some free EXP/premium!

And the continued lack of three man flights, organized team combat, Clan activities, etc.  :bajan:
