I have a powerful rig.  No need to go into specs.

I was one of the many who went from 70-80 fps in 2.0 to 7-12fps in 2.0.1.  Ive spent hours trying to debug it, and finally found the problem, thanks to someone who's name i forgot, buried 10 pages deep in a long thread.  I wish I had written their name down but it seemed an unlikely fix.

Note #1 - i didnt change any video settings.  Still HD, still High quality.  All i did was the one (semi) simple thing

1) Launch WG Center as normal

2) Launch WoWP as normal

3) Login with emaild and password as normal

Now youre in the garage, of course

Alt-Tab to the WG Center, and close it by hitting the X in the upper right corner.  It disappears, but is hiding in the system tray

Left click on the "Show hidden icons" arrow on your task bar, right click on the WG icon, and click exit.  Now its gone!

Alt Tab back into the game for insanely great graphics and high FPS!

My game is back!!  I can play!!

Was the WGC downloading updates for WoT or WoWS in the background?

It usually does not affect my performance.

My tier 10 vehicles

WoT (12): E 100, Jagdpanzer E 100, E 50 M, G.W. E 100, Object 140, IS-7, Batignolles-Châtillon 25 t, AMX 50 Foch B, AMX 50 Foch (155), AMX 13 105, T57, T110E5

WoWP (6): IL-40P, Me 262 III, F-86A, XF-90, F7U, Me P.1102 B

WoWS (10): Montana, Des Moines, Gearing, Midway, Yamato, Shimakaze, Zao, Minotaur, Großer Kurfürst, Hindenburg

Yes, I have tier 10 vehicles of each type in each game. PM me if you have done it as well because I have not yet found someone who has.

Downloads stop when a game launches......

I have always done it just a bit different and works very well.

1. open game file location

2. find and right click on WorldOfWarplanes Application file.

3. send to > desktop (create shortcut)

4. I personally then move this shortcut to taskbar.

5. double left click shortcut and your in the game without launching the WGC.

Btw, pay attention to upcoming updates. You will need to go through the WGC launcher to download them.

Once in awhile you will also need to go through the WGC to clear cache/repair as needed.

I've done it this way since 2 weeks after the launch of 2.0

Unfortunately, that solution does not work for everyone, because this game has an optimization problem and sadly you have returned in one of the worst moments of the game, but give a try to the new update and make your own conclusions. Enjoy.
