And some news from Russia - they got the patch.

They also have lots of bugs with crashing, freezing and tokens economy, small patch expected soon.

All the planes nerfed hard by equipment changes, new players will not notice, old players cry.

Calibration not always improves equipment - it's random, but still takes materials.

One more thing Im expecting with this patch is way more seal clubbing at lower tiers, and im sure that will be bad for player retention...

Well stopped playing tanks due to dev stupidity, pretty much the same for ships, now planes. Hello MWO!

^ Yup the "Bond" issue for CW tanks, sent me packing ... haven't been back since....

Some of my WOWP clan friends are playing tanks, so I might join them for a few games....

Well this update too like a pile of complex...

I would have much preferred more content and bug fixes... Like an Italian Tech Tree, or more Japanese planes... Where is the J2M, N1K2, French planes like D-520 ? more Bombers He-111 ? etc...

^ I like this idea , did WG even ask what the player base would be interested in?

Even if they asked they wouldn't have any of it.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Though I have not tried the update yet, I am thankful for it, as it shifts the end-game from just pilot progression to both pilot and airplane progression

Not looking forward to this update - seems like its just adding a lot of gimmicky and pointless complexity that heavily favors players who spend time grinding their favorite planes and running numbers in the hangar.

A question asked too late:

To the first batch I-180-3 owners, what is going to happen to their special revenue-increasing equipments?

FTFY.

Specialist status, according to Dev's Vlog, can be bypassed by tokens. The junk required to upgrade the stuff to maximum power is only paid out on wins and some are locked to specific tier range so you do need to play to win on at least two tier ranges. So it favors grinders in general...but everyone is on equal footing on the equipment front for the time being as all would have to start from scratch with equipments.

The lack of transparency and testing is a concern, in any case...

This is a game right?.. Why complicate things more?.. What is going away?.. I've paid a lot of cash here & don't want my paid for stuff messed with at all!!.. I just wish they would stabilize the game & quit messing around otherwise till that is done!.. I don't care about this crap!.. I just want to fly without the game crashing & chat that works.. I have 242 planes on my airfield with paid for paint jobs leave them alone please.. Give a fully trained pilot away or something like that but quit messing the game up more please.. WE HAVE NO CONFIDENTS IN GW TECH.

This is something that should have been on a community test for at least a week.

It would've been even in 1.9.

I don't understand why the devs hate letting the community test stuff these days.

Unfortunately that's how they want their newer players to play their game as the newbies progress to the higher tiers. It'll be alot harder for the newer players to get accustomed into this new system vs the players who already have 1000s of battles and have a tonne of aircraft at their disposal. Which is exactly what this update is going for.

Ya know, I have a tough time figuring out what this "upgrade" is going for.  I mean, what is the target audience and what unfulfilled customer need does this new release address?  I read the release notes and watched the translated video and all it does is talk about feature, feature, feature.  Yes, they did say that now you can not only progress your pilot but your plane as well.  And to that I say "so what?".  I mean, how does this advance the need for more players?  What unmet need was expressed that this upgrade solves?

It's very strange.  I see nothing about "Our players wanted X and in this upgrade we are delivering X".  What I read and hear is "Look what we did, isn't it cool?"   I hate to go back to the Fortnite example, but my son told me the story about the "Orange Justice" dance and that is a company that listens to the customer base and delivers, in this example, a tongue in cheek response that is wildly popular.

I think some of this has to do with the cultural makeup of the Ukraine.  Back in the occupation days, the Soviets would tell the Ukranians to make them a real big plane that can carry something like a submarine and bam! they deliver the Antonov An-225.  Nowadays, there is no one dictating what they should make.  Left up to their own devices, the Ukranians deliver crapola with sprinkles on top.

It's all very confusing but I think that the big failure here is WG needs to get a market research operation in gear and dictate to Persha what they want delivered based on firm market research.  Instead, they have developers dreaming up ways to get more incremental revenue and thus we continue to get incremental upgrades that do not address the market needs.

I'm worrying if all those elite planes notifications will flood people with hundred of planes on this login....:hiding:

Typical of Wg... players spend time and money earning skill points and building planes...Then they come along and make stupid superfluous changes when the game crashes constantly for the last 6 months since 2.0, terrible tech support and now they want to again screw with how planes fly or course not giving long time supporting players a "Reset" so we can actually use some of all that time and money spent sertting up planes to only not be able to fly 90% because they no longer apply to game parameters.

All your changes seem like they are for programmers desires of looking cool, but playing like a Nintendo!

Hey, game crashes steals medals, coin and exp;85% of the planes are junk now, but hey we programmed in birds...

LOL, I have over a 100 planes I used to fly...now I fly maybe 8... Wg is so clueless... They are just making it even worse...one would love to see.. "Hey! we actually fixed the crashing of the game client" before adding more monetary trinkets. Still waiting for the loot boxes to come back [edited]!

So each piece of equipment will have 2 RNG rolls ? That sounds horrible.
