Unfortunately that's how they want their newer players to play their game as the newbies progress to the higher tiers. It'll be alot harder for the newer players to get accustomed into this new system vs the players who already have 1000s of battles and have a tonne of aircraft at their disposal. Which is exactly what this update is going for.
Ya know, I have a tough time figuring out what this "upgrade" is going for. I mean, what is the target audience and what unfulfilled customer need does this new release address? I read the release notes and watched the translated video and all it does is talk about feature, feature, feature. Yes, they did say that now you can not only progress your pilot but your plane as well. And to that I say "so what?". I mean, how does this advance the need for more players? What unmet need was expressed that this upgrade solves?
It's very strange. I see nothing about "Our players wanted X and in this upgrade we are delivering X". What I read and hear is "Look what we did, isn't it cool?" I hate to go back to the Fortnite example, but my son told me the story about the "Orange Justice" dance and that is a company that listens to the customer base and delivers, in this example, a tongue in cheek response that is wildly popular.
I think some of this has to do with the cultural makeup of the Ukraine. Back in the occupation days, the Soviets would tell the Ukranians to make them a real big plane that can carry something like a submarine and bam! they deliver the Antonov An-225. Nowadays, there is no one dictating what they should make. Left up to their own devices, the Ukranians deliver crapola with sprinkles on top.
It's all very confusing but I think that the big failure here is WG needs to get a market research operation in gear and dictate to Persha what they want delivered based on firm market research. Instead, they have developers dreaming up ways to get more incremental revenue and thus we continue to get incremental upgrades that do not address the market needs.
