Only thing I found interesting is the Vampire, but we're not actually getting that.

You know the frustrating thing is that I actually spent time putting together a spreadsheet to track my munition and consumable use in order to properly project my monthly consumption thus allow me to purchase items at the right time in the proper quantities.

Gee thanks from making that a mess.

DICTA BOELCKE for WoWP
    1. Try to secure the upper hand before attacking.
    2. Always continue with an attack you have begun
    3. Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
    4. You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses
    5. In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
    6. If your opponent dives on you, do not try run away from his attack, but fly to meet it
    7. When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
    8. It is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent

Certainly not conductive to new(er) players......

...wait, how will the skills be updated to reflect the condition of new equipments...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

I also would like to know how the pilot skills will work with the new equipment.

Indirect buff to AA: None of the equipments give direct bonus to AA defense in base forms, those only come in special rolls and likely up to 20% maximum...

:sceptic:

I actually took the time to read through all of this and I am completely underwhelmed.

I guess I fall into the casual player realm.  All this tweaking, calibrating, etc. is just boring to me.  Spending time to redo the equipment for my planes just seems like an exercise to prevent me from actually PLAYING THE FRIGGIN' GAME!

How much time did they spend developing this stuff that to me is just completely mundane.

Not trying to be negative, but I dunno, spending hours in the hangar tweaking a pixel plane's performance is just silly.

Well, you only get those junk parts on wins so you need to get out there and win battles to get those junk to calibrate in the first place, no?

There is nothing here about fixing the damned chat issue where it is either offline or crashes the game. How hard is it to fix a chat box?
What about bug issues where dead planes don't disappear and still have empty health bars, the map has the planes stuck and game crashes when you return to the hangar?
Why can't we have both 1.9 and 2.0 versions of the game simultaneously with the players choosing which game mode they want?

Yeah, I guess so.  Not sure that once I get them I am going to spend the time calibrating.

Fixing existing things apparently is much harder than adding new things...and those new things will have somewhere that is broken...:child:

Haven’t read the notes yet, but just want to say thanks for re-implementing anniversaries, alpha/beta emblems, and listening to and fixing the player bases biggest wishes/ concerns.  Oh, and all the hard work creating end game/clan wars...

...never mind.  Thank you for re-enforcing my stance that you get no $ here, or Tonks, or ships, or anything you produce, until I see a professional and competent company(dev studios).

Technically I don't think you lose anything, what you stockpiled before will still be there, only it will be converted to its new equivalent.  I wouldn't sell just because you usually take a loss and you may find yourself using the new stuff just the same.  Worst case you can sell the stuff back after the update if you find you don't want it and (here is the gamble) hopefully you get the same amount of credits if you were to sell it prior to the update.

What is the exchange rate for selling equipment in the depot, 1/2 what you paid?

it use to be 50% of value at the time you are selling it

so if you bought it on a special 50% off week...

and sold it on full price day you'd not lose anything (in theory)

at least that is how I would try and game the system

.

.

that's the best I understood it,

if I'm wrong please correct me

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

all this was plagiarized from just this thread...

if you wrote it you helped with this summation

I'm sure they are working on {sarc}:

re-implementing anniversaries, alpha/beta emblems, and listening to and fixing the player bases biggest wishes/ concerns.  Oh, and all the hard work creating end game/clan wars...

and fixing the frame rate issues and game crashing for closing hanger chat boxes...

bug issues where dead planes don't disappear and still have empty health bars, the map has the planes stuck and game crashes when you return to the hangar

like chatroom crash, no tokens for some players on first medal of the day, putting the two databases back together so we can see our stats in one place, put the old data back in the API, incorrect stats for players, incorrect clan stats the 22nd rated clan has no stats because they have no flights, and on and on and on and on...

I believe many current players/customers are feeling like:

I don't see this update doing anything for player retention.  I am sure there will be a nice population spike at first, but there really is nothing here that changes the core of the game or adds to it, and once the newness wares off, we will be right back where we are now.  It is basically the same game with a different customization plan.  This is all my opinion, but I am tired of re-spawns where you defeat someone in a hard fight, only to have that same player come back with a full health plane and defeat you.  Tired of bot imbalances which also applies to bomber squadron imbalances where it feels as if one side can't hit much while the other side can flip a zone, which means bots are determining the outcome of more matches than they should.  I am also tired of not having a reason to try to get my plane maxed out with the best pilot and equipment other than just trying to compensate for the crap bots that get placed on my team at times.  I am tired of there being absolutely no in game clan functionality.  In my opinion, the bad still out weighs the good after reading what this update offers.

This is probably because they want you to "minmax" your planes. You take some extreme upsides for some extreme downsides. Alternatively, you can take some minors boosts for some minor downsides.  It's to limit the power of upgraded items, sure you have a huge boost, but you have a very serious penalty to think about, do you want to chance it? Or would you rather play it safe and get some small buffs but at the same time have downsides that are barely noticeable?

I'm... curious about this update, but most of it will be whether or not they actually worked on optimization and fixing bugs with the game as for whether or not this really brings me back to play regularly.

probably yes, but I think getting the higher level upgrades shouldn't get worse or all upgrades should have a negative aspect. Not to mention how this could impact skills(they better be giving free skill resets for this). I like the increased variety their adding, but I think overhauling the equipment and adding these negatives is unnecessary. I wish they would focus more on fixing the bots, balancing the map objectives better, and maybe finish the German Bomber line. Equipment didn't need to be changed at all, and they should've run a stand alone test server just for the new equipment in the (likely) case that it isn't good. The new equipment is going to change how the game is played and potentially not for the better.

I suspect there will be a 2.0.5.1 pretty soon after this patch to balance the new equipment cause likely there will be stuff on some planes that will be broken, negative values on equipment that will be excessive, or OP boosts with certain planes(Which is kinda why I don't understand the lack of a test server for something like this).

Yeah, I have the same mindset.  I don't know if this is a way for them to generate more incremental revenue or what.  In reading the release notes, I was like "Really, this is what you chose to focus on for a "major" update???"  To me it just seems like messing with things that are not truly impactful for gameplay.  In my opinion, it's just the way this studio works.  They focus on cosmetics and not the core.

Glad you're enjoying the game. I wish I was. Too bad you didn't know the game back in 1.4. You might have a different opinion.

I've knocked on death's door.....no one answered.....I don't complain much anymore.

No info on demounting...is it going to cost gold for everything there is now?

I just watched the video posted in the General Gameplay section, and they show improved, advanced & ultimate gunsight being demountable for tokens (1-3 tokens depending on level).

It's at 2:25 into the vid.
