Since I've recently started making World of Warplane Videos, I thought I'd share them with everyone so you can see the life-and-times of a mostly-GAA player. There's action, there's drama; victory, defeat. But most importantly, there's always stuff to blow up. If you happen to be curious how to get the most out of the IL-8's FAB-100, why do I call the IL-40 the Dragon Plane, or simply want to watch the pretty explosions, you're in for a treat.

Good to see people interested :honoring:

So I've been trying for a while now to get a more "standard" looking game for the Junkers to showcase how to play these cannons on wings. Finally was able to play a match where I was allowed to do my ground pounding mostly in peace. Also, I'm not really a fan of how often the 50mm cannon shoots wide .

Decided to try flying my IL-40P today. After a match that was aborted due to an unfortunate bug, I got into a match where the bots seemed to have had enough :amazed::

While quite a few people want the Tornado out of the British multirole line, for whatever reason, I find the plane to be more than capable at both dogfighting and emergency ground pounding. It's one of the most multiroles Multirole Fighters there is, and will wreck havok on any sector it can fly to :great::

GAAs tend to work under the idea that things can go south at any point. For the most part, we only really worry about securing sectors, not actually keeping them, or engaging enemy aircraft in general. However, there are times where things simply start down south :

Have you ever needed to quench a need for more speed in your GAAs? Would you like to have maximum firepower that can also be used consistently against enemy aircraft? And do you like fast reloading ordnance for stuff constantly blowing up? Well, I present to you the plane that made me learn the rhythm of German 30mm cannons, the Me 329 :B:

While the first half of the German GAA line has many ups and downs (and quite a few downs, sadly), at tier 7 it all takes shape and creates an identity for the rest of the line. They go from a strange mix of GAA types, of all shapes and forms, to filling a specific niche and staying loyal to that idea for the rest of the line. The Me 265 is the GAA that begins that trend, and marks the starting point of the second half of the German GAAs :izmena:;

I haven't played my 329 in a while. I should roll it out again.

Overall I don't play my tier 8s as much as I used to. If I get a tier 8-9 match it becomes hellish trying to get anything done, as the firepower gap is just a bit too much.

While the P-47B can't really turn at all, it can pretty much run away from most enemies it will face. This gives it an edge when confronted by multiple fighters, as it can just attempt to boost or dive away from them, escaping with minimal or no damage. It also allows it to fall back into a friendly sector or a flock of hungry bots that just ran out of bubblegum, then turn around and give the enemy a faceful of lead :playing::

So I got back the IL-2 to see how well it performed now in 2.0, and I was surprised to see the old 1.x pilot still hanging around in the Barracks. Sadly he has no skills, so I have to make do with just the base stats. Luckily the IL-2 is more than capable of dealing with ground targets at the tier. Sadly, it's not the ground targets that worry me as much :

Trying out the Ju 88 P in 2.0.5, I feel like overall the plane performs slightly worse than before. Lower health since my +hp equipment isn't fully upgraded, and it won't be for a while. Reargun is weaker with the shorter range, so I lose damage on incoming enemies. Gun accuracy is lower as I miss out on the +accuracy equipment until I can get specialist. Rate of fire on the big gun is supposedly faster, but not nearly enough to make a difference. I can also use universal ammo, except I'm not lighting targets on fire anytime soon with such a slow gun, and I can't even put it on my reargun until I get Specialist. There's just so many things locked behind specialist that makes me not really want to fly the poor plane. Good thing I got lucky with the 50mm cannon this time around :amazed::

Yeah, Specialist really hurts those planes which run on equipment. I'm struggling with my 215.02 - that big lug can barely fly, much less be competitive at tier X without heaps of mods.

I'm not sure yet as to what to do with my Thunderbolt, Tornado or Corsair.

With GAAs, my setup is mostly the same as before 2.0.5, except slightly worse due to the negatives and reduced space without Specialist configuration. Once everything's said and done, I might be able to outperform what I could do previously, but until then I'm partially flying what I used to. Luckily, that seems to be enough for the most part :

Had some trouble with the hit detection at the start of 2.0.5. It varied from enemies not registering as "dead" to my plane dying with health still remaining. However, I still tried to fly and have some fun while at it. This match turned out alright despite some clear bugs here and there :bajan::

After 2.0.5 very few of my general builds for GAAs have changed. There wasn't really anything new that caught my attention; I can't upgrade my turrets so that's out of the window. I really need additional health for those planes, so my choice of Airframe is pretty much set in stone. I highly value accuracy on my guns, so the cockpit equipment is not a choice to me. I haven't even been able to try ordnance equipment since it's locked behind specialist configuration. However, for the German GAAs I have been wondering if I could try something different :sceptic::

Spoiler

As a side note, I'll be taking an indefinite hiatus until WG sorts 2.0.5 out. Once they hopefully do, I should be able to come back :bajan:

I haven't been playing much lately since 2.0.5 hasn't really been sorted out properly, but with Summer Storm and the Hurricane Ia marathon I've had a reason to log in without worrying whether or not I win every single game. In fact, I went a step beyond and decided to get myself the Me P.1099 B-2 and see how the German GAA line plays like at the top of its performance. It was a very, very rough start, but I eventually got the hang of it. I also got a few premium planes with the lootboxes from the event. I didn't like most of them, but the Me 109 TL ended up being perfect for how I play the game. With all that, here's not one, not two, but three videos on these planes I've recorded! So go grab your popcorn, put on your goggles, and enjoy some of my good old Shenanigans :

I'm slightly disappointed that you say an Me209A buzzing around within 5 degrees for your unicorn and didn't turn to take a potshot

You killed hit with your gunner after so I guess that's fair
