One of the best things about being stationed in the UK was seeing this old girl fly at air shows. Got a lot of close up pics in flight. Definitely not the loudest plane I've ever heard though. Not even close.

That was just the title of the article.  I have not researched into its accuracy.

I loved the video pan at the end of the video,

all the annoying little (fake cars) minis screaming...

because their vibration alarms got "triggered"

mini=snowflake car... hehe

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

When I was stationed at Andersen AFB in Guam in the late 60's we had one come in for emergency repairs.  Anyway after it was fixed the aircrew did a demo flight over the runway.  I still remember the way that thing could yank and bank.  Amazing in such a large airframe.

A very excellent plane. Would love to get into one someday.

While the Vulcan does create a fair bit of racket, I was under the impression the XF-84H and Tu-95 were the loudest aircraft ever built because their turboprops spin faster than the speed of sound. If I recall correctly the XF-84H at the least could be heard from nearly 50km's away and if you were anywhere near the aircraft when the propeller was spinning that continuous sonic boom could seriously injure you.

Seems the article you got the title from didn't exactly do their research.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

Or they were just having a bit of fun?

True, that's a possibility, didn't think of that one.

I can understand where they're coming from though, hearing... I think it was an F-4 Phantom II rolling along a runway is quite an experience, and loud.
