And I am SO glad I did.  Essentially 19 and change for a gorgeous tier 7 with 4 20mm cannons.  Turns nice for such a large jet.  I am only a bit concerned about how quickly the guns overheat, but other than that...  Thank you Wargaming for the out-of-the-blue 40%-off coupon!

I am a newb scrub who started after 2.0.  I know...  I am truly sorry.  But this is looking fun!

Congrats!  There was an event where you could have earned it though.

Not like he could have traveled back in time to get it though.

Anyway, gratz on the Meteor - I've only flown mine once or twice so far and I find it a decent plane but not a really interesting or memorable one apart from the history. Maybe you could write a review about it in Quesnel's Community Contributed Guide to Premium Aircraft

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

Oh man I remember that... grinding out for the first tier 7 jet in the game, good times, good times...

Though the Meteor going on the prem shop was one of the reasons I left the game after 1.5... oh well, I missed a lot but at least I got the Meteor when it first came out!

Still though the Meteor Mk.I is a pretty strong tier 7 fighter, you pretty much have the firepower of a Hornet on a quick fighter though it's not the best at dogfighting it feels pretty good to use, and the beta camo (if you have it) looks really nifty to boot. Good tier 7 prem.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

Wouldn't the Kostikov 302 been a better deal than the Meteor?

They are both great planes.  Meteor was definitely my favorite tier 7 fighter.  But I picket up the 302 on sale and it is right up there.  The 302 is great for getting out of sticky situations with an amazing boost.  I find that the 302 takes longer to destroy planes though.  Both are great and require 2 different play styles.
