I am in awe at your rocket skills.

***

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

I don't get it.

All I see is seal-clubbing.

Checked the spoiler...where's the game guide, tutorial, or tactics?

Just a video of some person seal clubbing. Super boring and not relevant to this section of the forums...in fact, probably detrimental. If some newcomer comes in and sees this, they'd probably peace right out, and who'd blame them?

there are tons of videos explaining the guide, tactics or tutorials. This is a video where I showed the implementation. New players (ie. players who reached a basic understanding of flying) will watch and learn these lower tier videos to understand what they can achieve if they do things right like where I am going first, how am I shooting, how rockets can be used to shoot at aircrafts, rolling etc. and since the tier 1 gameplay is very slow, they can understand each step. We all know the basics, it is just a matter of showing them how it is done. And we are all adults, we don't have to spoon feed them ie. explain every single minute of the battle. Sometimes it is okay to have a positive perspective of things.

As much as I'm against seal clubbing, and as I personally would never post a similar video, he does have the right to post it anywhere he wants

He's still a good pilot, but I hadn't thought about the effect that it might have on new pilots

It would affect me, but would I learn to look over my shoulder more often, maybe?

"what they can achieve if they do things right like where I am going first, how am I shooting, how rockets can be used to shoot at aircrafts, rolling etc"...

I have some comments about your strategy...

1_ Note that you were the first to enter the sector, I dont recommend that because the AA focuses on the first plane that enters the sector.

2_You wen to the Garrison first, (the garrison only gives you points) instead of capturing the airfileds, they are more important ("Every airbase your team controls decreases their respawn timer by 10 sec.")

3_ You stayed over the garrison  almost the entire battle, and you completely ignored the top airfiled (If you had captured all sectors the battle would end faster)

4_ At some point after 5:10 you ended up flying between sectors, players should fly over the sectors, so the AA could help to kill enemy planes.

Nobody is questioning his right, only why this video is in the newcomer's guide section.

Thanks for observing these points, much appreciate it. This is what I was looking for from the community, to ask questions and discuss like an adult. :great:

1. True, AA focuses the first plane that enters, which is why I was rolling and avoiding Flak explosions. I tried to play as much aggressively I could. Even at higher tiers, I don't mind to be the first plane to dive in to a base all by myself. check out my Yak-19 video here

Spoiler

As well as a Tier 10 German fighter

Spoiler

I totally agree with you about this point though. When I first started i used to observe and then attack potential enemy

P.S. I would also mention that, this is all a matter of experience about diving into a base all by yourself.

2. I chose the garrision first because from here I can quickly go to either sides as fast as possible to stop enemies capturing the northern and southern sectors.

3. I stayed most of the time over garrision because I-5 is a multirole fighter and MRFs top priority is to defend against potential GAAs, MRFs and LFs.

4. Since the bots died too often when trying to capture the garrision, their time to respawn was delayed but the rest of the attackers where attacking the southern sector and my team tried to hold it as long as they could. Therefore, the wave of attack at garrision was reduced and then I decided that i could move to the south sector to help friendly and prevent enemies from capturing the airfield.

Some people will disagre but to me, Airfields are the least most important base because of few reasons (except for the airfield base with repair field)

1. LFs can easily kill bot defenders and capture base and base possesion slips way too fast.

2. If you didn't notice, GAAs do not attack Airfields. GAAs are now very efficient at recent patches and can flip base possesion like in a minute.

I'd say it's arguable that Multiroles are better for offense with their increased boost and firepower when compared to the light fighters

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

totally agree with the fact that MRFs have better firepower and boost but you might find it extremely difficult to fight against human GAA pilots when you are in your LFs. The additional gun power of MRFs such as 4x30mm autocannons of J7 series or the Tiny Tim rockets for American MRFs are extremely effective against GAAs , where as a Yak-8, 19 or 30 will find it extremely difficult to finish it completely with additional help from your teammates but never alone.

It actually depends upon the situation and strengths of MRFs. American MRFs are very effective in escorting friendly GAAs and defend them, hence capturing bases, whereas USSR or J7 series are best at defending.

Just so you know, when you press Tab during your battle, it clearly shows a number of aircrafts destroyed while defending, which will give you more chevrons, which states one of the key roles of MRFs.

For me, the vid is akin to the age-old question:

How many 4th graders could you take in a fight?

It is hysterical as a though-game (I can take 16 before I'm overwhelmed).

However, actually watching an adult beat the snot out of a class of 4th graders is horrific.

Just MHO. YMMV.
