i really do get the enjoyment of the mix-matching of skills/consumables/equipment, and i've seen those benefits in the hands of a master 190 pilot, but... jeez

 

109s sing to me, but 190s just grunt and sweat like a heavyweight boxer

 

edit:  sorry brother, i know that you love 'em... but if they were quietly removed from the game, i wouldn't even notice for about a month

Also, does anybody have suggestions on how to win in it? I'm trying to unlock ta 152 and BV P series. I fly just for fun but hate losing my win rate which I worked hard for and I hate bias. I can't even fly P51, my favorite plane, right now because of anti-American bias in this game. 

Valium prescription would be the best way.

es anyone that has the Premium A-8 version wanna chime in on whether or not its worth getting?

Its brief overview is described as "Tier 6 Maneuverability with Tier 7 Firepower". 
Which sounds good. Generally speaking as you advance in tier Firepower goes up and Maneuverability goes down
And ok it has the firepower. But it is in teir 7 so ... not a selling point so much as adequately meeting the minimum standard.

So i look to the maneuverability ... And in a side by side by side comparison of the A-5 (T.6) the A-8 (PremT.7) and the Dora (T.7)

I see such a small difference that i wonder if it has meaning? 


In point of fact one could argue that a more accurate description of the Premium would be:
"A Premium Tier 7 Plane with Tier 6 Airspeed (and Altitude but thats only 200m so who cares?)"
or if you're an optimist:
A Premium Tier 6 plane with Tier 7 Matchmaking and Firepower.

Can someone with the plane chime in and either confirm the data or tell me that
"Actually it flies Much Better than its tech tree counterpart. Lemmie show you how ...

Or is this much like the Panther 2 line in WoT?

its a good idea to get the Premium(s) first and use them to grind crew training and credits before and during your climb up the related Tech Tree line
But you stop using them after you Elite a Tech tree plane of equal tier to the premium(s).
Unless you really need the credits and your playing only your premiums for the 2x bonus for first victory

Don't bother with the A-8 unless you're a huge Focke Wulf fan - the tech tree Dora is far better.

 

As you said, tier 6 plane with tier 7 firepower and matchmaking. It cannot safely engage in a fight and you'll spend most of your time playing GAA out of the main fight. It's good at that - its firepower can tear ground targets apart and the single 250kg bomb can help finish them off. Its also useful for hunting GAAs.

 

In short, don't bother unless you're a huge 190 fan. It's a support airplane that's a challenge to play in most circumstances. Not to say you cannot have monster games in it, but you'll have to work for them

When you say "clean" does that include the extra Outboard 20mm cannons? Because if so ... have you heard of this thing called a Bf 109?

That said, I have gotten a fair amount of Personal Points thanks to pounding the ground as needed on a regular basis.
According to my tail markings, i have a similar amount of ground and air kills at 4 each. Oddly enough just like my Do 335 ... 
Which is Really strange to me.
because this is a plane i have REAL trouble with at times. (just like the Dornier, go figure)

Yet this is only surpassed in Air Kills by my Bf 109B performance (5) ...
And Ground kills with my Stuka performance (5). 
Both are planes that are a pleasure for me to fly.

Ugh this Fw line of planes vexes me so. 
I enjoy the large options available to me that running this MultiRole Fighter allows. And yet ...
In air to air combat i kinda have to fly it like a heavy that traded "most" of its altitude performance for "not quite ever enough" gains in agility ...
And in air to Ground work I have to fly it like a GAA that traded so much durability and the capacity to be constantly over shot;

for the ability to get to very dangerous places to be in seconds not minutes. 

These trade offs are not really "Ideal" but they are what they are. To make the line "Work" you have to actually Work at it. It does not come easy (for me)
And I guess that is the reward. If I get gud enough at this line and your a terror in anything else even remotely OP ... a certain level of name recognition kicks in.

I fly the A-5 with full guns but no external ordnance. I'm a little underperforming right now as I'm using her as a trainer for Charlotte until she gets her ninth skill point so she can get MM2 for the Ta152

OK, I now own the Dora.  It hit SO HARD, but keeping those guns on target is trouble.  I need to pretend it's a heavy fighter.  Tonight I got stuck with a bunch of T8 folks, and my lunch got eaten.  But I am going to work for the Ta-152, oh yes.  Zapping folks from across the map is my goal.

The harm that comes to the 190 series is the artificial altitude caps and rather watered down energy management.  The 190 has greater speed and dive speed than it's peer fighters but since most turners lose seemingly no energy in a turn they usually can get on your tail quick enough to cause harm.  The artificial caps keep the 190 from using any altitude advantages the real life counterpart had it's peers.

I stuck with the 190-A5 until I felt more comfortable with this line ... it's almost specialist now and I think I'm more or less getting the hang of it. Had one battle yesterday with 18 kills (vs 1 death) and Legend, Kozdehub and Lambert medals ! Discipline is the key ... ;-)
