The P-39N-1 is available in the Premium shop.  This machine, buffed out with the turning mods and the pilot skills for turning, will kick major tail at low and medium level.

 

If you push it really hard, you can get it to bomber altitude.  And that 37mm will give some red team folks a very short flight.

Oddly enough no pilots on the new bundles, just the choice of gold, premium time, and missions that probably won't work.

Definitely skip the Hawk II and Mosquito 26 (both are Chinese Nationalist aircraft) though.

I don't see anything new in the shop but all the P-39's are good.

If you login, you will see a bunch of "only for you" bundles.

Does that mission work? In fact, what is that "special limited time battle mission"?

I'm certainly shying away from any missions added into bundles until I get my 2000 gold from a mission I paid for in the last bundle I bought.

Yup, first mission worked.  The other one will have to wait until the event is over.

I first got the P-39Q on the EU server (with 6 pilot skills). Like it very much, so when P-39N became available on the NA server (with missions), so I got that too  ;-)

The missions are 5 x XP for the plane itself (10 times, once a day, expires in 60 days) and a 100% bonus on credits for tier 1 - 4 planes (?), for about 30 days.

I got the P-39N-1 in one of those promo code giveaway deals. I love it, I still find the guns to be a little tricky though. I'm not talking about overheating the cannon - I can manage that. It seems to me the cannon and machine guns require different amounts of lead. Or it may just be hub versus wing mounted gun aiming technique.  I tried using different fire buttons once and never cottoned up to that business. I just try to find the hub gun's sweet spot and let the other guns spray wherever.

Same here ; I put weapons group 1 and 2 under different buttons on my joystick but it seems the 37mm always fires ??

The cannon tends to once or twice yeah, and when you're firing the .50s with one button and try to add in the 37mm plus .30s all the guns stop firing if you try to only let up on the cannon trigger once it overheats.

It works, folks just have to use it enough in games to ''get'' how the split groups on each plane tend to best function given the quirks of how Warplanes handles them.

 

Not down to you, just how the lag & server is cooperating with the game coding at a particular moment.

Yeah I grabbed myself a P39N-1 Aircobra too. The plane makes me feel dirty

The mission where you get 5x for 60 days is eye-popping.  5x XP per winning mission means that if you are any good at all, you get 25k XP per day.  Even if you win with a mid-pack score, you get 20k XP.  The pilot already came with some pilot points (I can't remember now - I moved that pilot to my P-38), but the pilot I have in the plane is already up to five points.  If I keep at this pace, the pilot may end up with eight or nine points.  But I have to play every day for 60 days.
