Hi there,


I was playing a battle the other day and noticed that enemy bots were dominating capture of 2 factory sectors.  Upon investigation I noticed the 3 attack type aircraft on my team were stuck orbiting an area and appeared to be stuck.  Considering the result I deduced that they had likely been there all game, while the enemy attack craft were freely roaming the map.  Image and map/configuration/game type/spawn below:


Map: Peripheral Mission

Configuration: Silence of Ice

Game type: Conquest

Spawn: Southeast Spawn


The position they were stuck in was the western side of the garrison sector just southwest of the spawn, along the mountain range bordering the factory sector.




I will post any others on this thread if I find them.

Yeah it's a known pathing issue.  Also you'll catch bots trying to fly thru mountains :facepalm:

Some have managed to do so from what I've heard :ohmy:

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

The bot GA don't know how to go round mountains so they circle slowly gaining altitude without boost until they can go over the top.

There are a bunch of maps & spots where this happens.


They need something like a flow-field showing them where they can go round/through passes or a wider scan angle so that they can see the better path, maybe just re-target to a different cap if they find a mountain in the way?

Approaching from different angles/after dying they often will chose the better path.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.
