Of the Ta152 and B.V. 210, I'd pick the 210 anytime. 262 is frustrating. Don't have enough time in the XF15C, Do335 and 109TL to say much with any accuracy and I have no other tier 8s.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

If you had to choose one you'd be hard pressed between the Seafang, Spitfire XIV and Ki-94. Only 2 of those have the altitude capabilities to reach bombers  and keep up with zooming HFs (It's not the spitfire). And all 3 have the firepower to take out GAs down low as well as great TnB capabilities. So I'd put my money on the Seafang since it's got ordnance as well as consistent guns that is hard to miss and altitude to climb high if needed.

Ki-94-II is the absolute best fighter (and thereby most effective overall) for tier 8.

This new plane that some of us ground to get, XF15C, is actually quite good also but I have not gotten enough battles in it yet to give it my rating as "best for tier 8"

That's true, but a lot of people ( including me ) couldn't get a handle on the plane and it's hard to hit guns. That is why I made the drug comment. Just joking by the way.

It's the slow rate of fire with the 30's that throw people off.

But if you stay with it and learn the lead they are deadly.

It also trains you for the 30's in t9 & t10 where it's faster paced.

Best all round I would have to say Ki94II.  Its got hard hitting guns, extremely manueverable, and great altitude performance, and good speed.  I would only ding it on its rate of roll at 110 is sub par.

Yo OP!  No one is telling you this because it is a poorly kept secret:

The XF5U (Pancake) is the total meta tool for this tier.  It has:

1) A very high HP pool

2) A very low stall speed - meaning you can point the thing to 90 degrees vertical with no boost and still climb well past any plane

3) Able to turn and burn with many planes at high alt

4) Incredible boost numbers

5) Real good guns that can reach out and touch someone from a distance

6) Tiny Tim rockets to finish off that Military Base after you have killed all the defense aircraft.  You can get about 90% of the Military Base with killing defense planes, but don't count on the bots, they don't cap, so use the Tiny Tims to kill 1 or 2 ground targets to cap.

7) You can kill a bomber flight if you need to

8) Ability to go from ground level to 3000+ meters to kill a bomber even if you do not have a full pool of boost.

9) A plane where if you get a "do not die" requirement with other qualifications you will have a reasonable chance of making it work

10) One of the only true vertical Boom and Zoom planes left in the meta

11)  The ability to take on T9 planes and make them wish they did not hit you with a few measly bullets

If you want to continue the turn and burn meta, the Spitfire at T8 is pretty good.  However, the XF5U when fully upgraded (and I personally would use Free XP if you have it) is pretty much the tool for T8.

How do you do this, you neckbeard? Do you actually have a collection of hundreds of gifs saved on your HDD? Or you search the internet to find a gif to post it here? You must be really mentally sick! Go take a shower! Oh.... and take your medication. Oh ... and get a life.

You call the I-260 the best tier 8 fighter & I'm mentally sick?  R  I  G  H  T..

the Yak-15 turns even better ... only drawback is that it is more vulnerable and has weaker guns. And you have to stay under 1200m.

Spit XIV and Ki-94-II perform much better at high alt ... I like all 3 of 'm for different reasons ;-)

I think La-11 has the best turn rate in Tier VIII.
Really loved that plane in the previous meta.

La-9 with rocket boost and 4 cannons might be even better, but i stopped at La-7 in that line.

Can't recommend it having not played it but they're very difficult enemies in bot hands, when you see a good human in one well you've almost certainly lost that battle.

But its slow, lacks firepower & as you said altitude.

Give it a go! I hated the heck out of La-7, love La-9.

I think Spit XIV has slight margin in allround performance, La-9 in firepower & maybe speed.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

I second this, this plane is a wonderful thing!

I had some success with the Ki94-II recently but it may be tricky to use effectively for a newbie.

If you want one of the best, most versatile and most forgiving overall you need the XF5U Pancake, arguably the most fun you can have in the game at the moment.

I agree with all the statements about the pancake being awesome. I also feel the KI-94-II is awesome too, its problem is a lack of decent armor and HP. It gets wings, tail sections and engines destroyed constantly.

I am going to put a vote in for the Arrow, any plane you climb away from trouble in is a great T8 fighter.

The Pancake is pretty darn good.  The Do-335 is also good, *if* you can figure out how to use that 30mm cannon.  That thing just straight DELETES airplanes.
