Is there a good site where I can get what skills to select for the Spitfire tree? I would assume each plane would have the same from tier 1 -10. What would you recommend?

Not really - some lines change a lot, but the Spits are pretty stable.

Personally I went with:

Evasive, Marksman I and Aerodynamic Expert. You could swap Evasive for Aerobatic Expert and Fire Retardant if you want or, more likely, just add those two to round up your skills at 10 points.

Note my Spits all have Lightweight Airframe and Control Surface Trim for added maneuverability (syncs with aero expert) plus the Gunsight.

***

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

This video I think will help me a lot. Got an idea now with what I need to select as skills.

How hard can it be to decide which ones are best?

In a sense, there are.

Getting pilots to the point where they can get some variety is a grueling task...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

You can say that again to my HG II pilot.

i made poor choices with pilot skills at first, so i'll assume there were others who also made poor choices before researching here

thank you WG...  for the relatively cheap skills reshuffle button!

The thing about the spitfire is it is kind of a jack of all trades plane since it can turn very well and has a bit of speed also. So, the traditional way of skill selection would be to enhance its main strength and collect every skill that will boost maneuvering (the active skill that lowers damage taken while turning is a good idea also). You could also boost it's secondary strength by focusing on speed (This is a less popular route as this only really makes a difference when booming and zooming zeros and other quick turning planes). Most people will tell you not to worry too much about mitigating an aircraft's weaknesses. However, the Spitfire has its guns spread wide along the wings, which causes the bullet spread to be wider and less accurate. You can compensate for this with the Marksman skills. I do love that it is fairly cheap to reset skills, especially since some higher tier aircraft are different than the previous planes in the line.
