Hello,

Figured I would try World of Warplanes out and was hoping for some feedback as to what nation and line to go down. My play style is to just log in and have fun but help the team but not have to go crazy with all sort of controls. Getting old.

  • Tanks I went Russian Heavy line.
  • Ships I went USN Battleship line.

Only want to go down one line so I have a small amount of to planes to get good crews.

What in your opinion would be the Planes equivalent?

Spitfire (UK)...in the current meta, anyway.

Most low tier planes are fun, but by tier 4 the nation's characteristic would start to show and things will go their separate ways at tier 5.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Seconded. If you want brawlers, Spit's the way to go.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

The Russian Mig line is decent if you want a bit more altitude.

Welcome to WoWP and the forums! Try the UK line, or the RU line for the Ground attack vehicles.

I would recommend the UK Spitfire line. Good firepower, speed, and maneuverability, they can also take a bit of damage from low-medium caliber weapons (they're still usually within 1-shot range for the big guns), don't get set on fire a ton, don't suffer critical damage a ton, and can still fight at alright altitudes. These can use pretty much anything, since they're the ultimate all-rounders in this game at the moment.

Alternatively, the USSR MiG line could be a good choice, the tier 6 is rough but after that you get alright maneuverability, EXTREMELY high speed, good-great firepower, and good altitude performance, they suffer damage about the same as Spitfires as well. You'll probably want to focus on increasing your engine thrust/speed with these to accentuate their strengths.

A third option could possibly be the Imperial Japanese Army line (aka the "Ki" line), they may lack speed but their acceleration is extremely good, letting them hold top speed better than almost every line of aircraft in the game, they have excellent maneuverability, only losing out to the fully dedicated turnfighters, but they can hit VERY hard once you reach tier 7 and fly high at tier 8. The main flaw with this line however is their incredibly poor durability, they're practically coated in gasoline, made of paper, and their control surfaces are made of plastic, you'll need some durability-improving equipment for these.

As suggested above, the Spitfire line is the most well rounded and flexible line. They have both speed and good turning ability. If you were only going to pick one line, that's the easiest one for a new player. Another line that is fairly easy to play is the Russian Lavochin fighter line. They have decent firepower and ok turning ability. The tier 1-4 Russian planes have good turning ability and are the only low tier planes with rockets.

You should try the other types of planes as well though. Russian ground attack planes can be fun, German heavies have good firepower, altitude, and speed, and American multi-roles have good bombs and rockets. At the moment, the Germans have the only non-premium bombers. Bombers are a completely different playstyle and can be a fun way to relax when you're having trouble with the other aircraft types.

german multirole. Lower tiers might suck, but the last tiers (8,9 & 10) are satisfyingly rewarding, incase your goal is to unlock tier 10. Otherwise, you can stick to the Japanese and UK lower tiers where players are mostly playing. Stay away from US fighters, they are just overrated

German BF line up to tier 5 is great. UK Spitfire line is probably the most user friendly right now. American Mustang line isn't all that great but I still play that line. Got Russian line for Ground attack. The tier 6 F4U-1 Corsair is probably the best multi-role you can get right now. I like the tier 5 P-38f for a heavy fighter but the Beaufighter is damn near op. If looking at premium planes under tier 6 get the tier 2 XP31, at tier 3 get the Blenheim bomber, at tier 5 get A6M3 exp, XFL-1, Spitfire 1a, and the Tomahawk IIb. Spitfire 1a and Tomahawk IIb aren't great but both are fun to play. Finally at tier 6 for premiums, grab the Spitfire V DB605, Mustang 1A, and the A-26 Invader. The tier 5 French AD10C2 and SE100 look really good but I don't have those.

Thanks everyone! Going to start by going down Spitfire line. Just bought the .99 Supermarine Spitfire Mk Ia to help me with my crews. Seems like a great credit maker! Thanks once again for all your help!

whats your fav plane? if you have one try that!

Spitfire or 109 are among the easiest but go with what you like and do best in at first IMHO
