Hey all, just a friendly suggestion for any devs who might stumble across this, but for HFs and MFs it can be more than a little annoying to find yourself on the defending team with ordinance mounted. At least in Conquest mode you might use it once or twice even if you end up roflstomping the other team but aside from trying to rack up Gobulev's (sp?) or Bombardier medals it can be a literal drag to have to on the defensive with a couple of 500 lb bombs and a stack of HVARs slowing you down.

Some rockets like R4Ms are of course useful, so maybe somewhere there can be some loadout presets or an opportunity to change loadout when you respawn (maybe only if you have an airfield). It doesnt have to go too far like changing other modules or consumables, just bombs and rockets.

I find they slow you down so little it's not worth worrying about, if it is just release them. Besides I got me first two rocket kills since I started playing today and at least one bomb kill.

Actually, as I understand it, if you load a payload of bombs and/or rockets, you carry the weight even after you drop them.

I haven't looked at every plane but, the only decline in performance I've observed while in the hangar has been to rate of climb and top speed.  These hits to performance are negligible which makes it worthwhile to take the ordinance whether you use it or not.

Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.  Besides, bomb / rocket kills will always make your day a little better.

Rate of climb can be a huge deal though, especially if you're in a Heavy fighter or an energy based multirole like a Fw 190 or P-47, I'm all for having them and maybe not needing them in conquest mode because well you still might need them, which just isn't the case in Invasion

Just looking at my planes, carrying external ordnance only drops my speed by -1. No big deal. But the joy of dropping bombs on a GAA is priceless.

Take off the bombs, but keep the rockets, they are useful in air to air for mission 8.  cuts your speed by 1 i think....
