I knew they were closing their California office, however I thought it was an office move, not a layoff move too.

I know this is a business move, however job positions will be closed out too. It will be sad if we lose WG staff that we like and appreciate. Best of luck to you, WG staff, with your new endeavors.  :honoring:

They aren't going anywhere, other than out of the Socialist Republic of California. There have been many companies that have done the same over the past 5 years. On the WoT forums it has been reported that employees have been given the option to reapply for same jobs in Texas. I hope GP and the others are able to relocate and stay with us. I would guess announcements of replacements, if there are any, will be coming shortly.

WG sank a huge amount of time and resources into WoT 1.0 so it's not going anywhere. This game...............we shall see!

P.S. was in your old neighborhood a couple weeks ago, clod!

This is a lot of Doom and Gloom :sceptic:...companies move and shuffle all the time.  At some point things will come to and end...when it does...it does.  Until then I'll continue to enjoy the game(s) we have ATM.

iowa!!

Really? My old neighborhood?

Don't ya think the pick-up trucks up on blocks really look nice this time of year?

And I miss playing in the abandoned houses that lined the streets!

Anyways...!

Come play 2.0 sometime...

Don't say I blame WG on moving out of that unforgiving area...  Makes sense the staff really can't talk about in open forums or face potential loss of employment...not that it matters now since they're out in March.

Move to TX though. It's a lot friendlier environment, and housing is much better!

Players were saying the same thing in the WoT forum when I first discovered the game four years ago.

No doubt it'll end at some point, but I wouldn't bet on it being any time soon.
