Oh jeez, Patton's leaving?!? This game really *is* dead.

Only thing I have to say is: Why'd you expect anything in the first place? This is WG, after all.

Try DCS, I think you'll love it, assuming you're not playing it already :D

Oh dear, though I didn't get to know you very well, sorry to see you go.

I held on for a fair while, still recall my time in OBT, and getting the Meteor Mk.1. Aaaahhhhh getting the Meteor Mk.1 back when it was an exclusive aircraft for the "Shooting For the Stars" event a few years ago. I'm still a bit bitter when they made the Meteor Mk.1 a premium anybody could buy, it was such a cool plane to flaunt as "Yeah, I worked my [edited] off to get this thing!"

Hopefully someday you will return and perhaps I'll get to know ya, I know I've made a slight return to this game despite me quitting when I saw similar motives.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

CHINA NUMBAH WAN

I even made a custom skin for my IL-10M!

While I would hope this would be the shot that WG hears and pays attention to sadly I fear it will fall on deaf ears as have many complaints that have been made over the years. As a cbt for wot and a Alpha for Wows I can confirm much of what was posted in this thread as 100% correct in regards to those two titles. Bait switched, ignored. Even still it's not the first time companies have done something like this in the past so I'm not overly shocked by it here. Fact is many in the wows cc program have been rather upset with the developers as of late. From Ichase getting booted for complaining about a bait and switch in regards to the Graf Zepplin to Noster becoming downright angry over the lack of communications, the signs are very clear that there is a problem.

2.0 was meant to be a phoenix for the game, a rebirth do something dying. While there are many aspects that are great the say things that helped drag it down in the first place are still in existence.  Just look at the updates as of late. None of them have tested for crapas the game leaks so much memory it crashes ever 45min -2 hrs. There has been no attempt to optimize performance even though there is a plethora of tickets and reports suggesting there is a problem. Instead, the developers are doing the tired and less then successful practice of dazzling with new toys rather than fixing the problem.

Please dont take this as me ranting. I really do love this game and enjoy playing it daily and interacting with people on stream, however, since Nov I have seen this game get progressively worse and worse. They say patience is a virtue, but to much just become denial. And sadly it seems Patton just ran out of his. Something I fear many of us will also realize unless something changes and soon. So below I will make a plea to the developers.

Dear Dev's,

By any measure of success, you will try to measure this game you will have to admit your efforts have been either lackluster or nonexistent. This is a business. It is the duty of a developer to create a product for consumption and generate income for the company. In order to do this, you must make a product that is stable for the masses, introduce new content to keep interest, as well as interact with your consumer base to help continue interest and drive greater support for fiscal success. So far you have managed to do 1 of these things. if you wish to continue being paid and having job security perhaps you may consider doing your job and let this be a wake-up call. We ensure you have a job and are paid. We can and will take that away from you. Your very livelihood depends on our support of your project. So you ignore and neglect us at your own fiscal peril.

I'm pretty close to giving up as well.

Been playing WoT since beta, and WoWP since alpha, though I gave up on WoWP shortly after it went live and didn't come back till 2.0.

WoT is dying as well, they've gutted the rewards for clan wars, and then on top of that taken it from a year round thing to just having intermittent and incompetent clan wars "seasons" they've gotten rid of the weekly tournaments, added broken premium tanks, and as of the last clan wars campaign, stopped even bothering to add additional reward tanks.

WoWP 2.0 may have brought more people in, but I just don't foresee many sticking around with the current state of the game.

The Sad reality is we are dealing with people who think they know whats best without really interacting with there player base.

What is frustrating is that for WoT at least, WGNA seems to try and constantly get shot down by  Minsk.

WG wants to do everything they can to appeal to the RU player base, even though they get their profits from EU and NA.

As far as I can tell, they actually seem to revel in pissing off their Western customers and employees.

I hear you on that.  +1    Thinking on leaving the game too, the game just has too many bugs in the game for me and the match making sucks.

GP -

It's very sad to see you go. You have been around here longer than I and a real asset to this community.

The developers do want this game to succeed, and they are trying hard to update the game on a regular basis with a fairly small team. I would like to see this game grow and get better as well as the community. I know there are some good ideas for features coming up around the bend with the game, and if you feel so inclined to pop back from time to time you are always welcome here with very open arms.

Until we meet again. :honoring:

I am thinking about that as well, so far no real challenges, no real skills, just a sense of

map that made the game CSGO of the air.

Air defense bots don't do anything, and they are stupid as hell, they are also shooting

out premium rounds that can easily have you critically damaged, just to nauseate you.

Bots planes are shooting more accurately than humans, which is quite unfair. The

aerodynamic feature in 2.0 makes us feel like we are swimming instead of flying, and

no real tactics if you get caught by an AI plane.

Planes used to reach high are pretty much useless, the air defense bots, and the AI bots

always tend to fly low, making the altitude even lower. Compressed altitude does make the

battle more intense, at the cost of knowing you have no chance of winning if enemy in more

maneuverable planes.

The game needs to make ground attacking less effective, and make speed loss over altitude

bands even more to give high altitude planes a chance of working as intended.

You're absolutely right that WG is too stubborn to listen to input from experienced players who are invested in and committed to the success of the game.  Maybe it's a cultural thing, but Persha Studio would prefer failure instead of heeding input and advice from players (customers).  In what other business does a company succeed by purposely ignoring the desires and demands of its customers?

It's a shame to see you go, George.  But, I was amazed that you were still around whem I returned a couple months ago.

The game is actually reasonably enjoyable, now.  But, I will follow you out the door when I get fed up with bots fully deciding matches in tier 7+ 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

It's not the frequency of updates, but rather the pertinence or value of updates that will improve the game.

Persha also needs to heed player feedback. There must be a good saying in Russian about what befalls a stubborn man.

There have been several threads both from players active in 1.9 through 2.0 as well as from long abset, returning players,  such as myself who have opened bug threads about the alpha and beta airplane icons being unavailable.  Players have opened support tickets about the issue.  Its small perk that costs WG nothing to implement.  But, it is now costing you players by NOT implementing it.

That indicates a dev team that doesn't care about these players. If Persha only wants players who were not in the alpha or beta, I should quit now instead of waiting to get fed up with imbalanced bots deciding higher tier matches.

I played in beta, I would like access to the aircraft decals I earned.  If WG and Persha don't want me as a player, say the word and I'll join George in saying <<Прощай навсегда>>

Sorry GP I respect you but simply can t agree.
We (the players/cutomers) gave ALL  the needed direction (requested or not) to improve the game and they (devs/Persha) gave us a tottally different thing ignoring our sugestions. I know they are not bound to follow our cries but if they wanna make monney they got to sell what we wan t to buy.

As long as there continues to be a need for Bots to fill out the teams in battle, this game will be a FAIL.

The CEO of wargaming said this about tanks,

Polygon's coverage from Game Developers Conference 2017

“We were a little arrogant, let's say, three years ago,” Kislyi told Polygon. “We were thinking we know everything that our players need without talking intensively to them ourselves. It turned into — I wouldn't call it a disaster, but we hit the wall at some point.”

I could only imagine the neglect WoWP had/has being the back burner of everything if this is the case.
