I wonder what were they thinking when they made those planes :sceptic:

Ultra long range escort.  Two pilots to share the load.  All I can say is I'd hate to be the passenger in a fight in one of those things.

If you can't use two pilots on them I'm gonna be sad :bajan:

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

I'd rather have a Bearcat. Really surprised me when I started playing they didn't have athe Hellcat in the game, especially since they have the Wildcat and Tigercat which for some bizarre  reason comes off the F4U.

Introducing the new t7 German bomber

Actually existed. It was a tug version of the Heinkel He-111, in fact designed to tow the ME 321 glider, before the Luftwaffe decided to circumvent the highly dangerous process of towing the ME 321, and motorized it instead.(as the ME 323 Gigant)  It's funny, I was just thinking of this plane last night.

You know, though, this isn't the most strange conventionally powered plane to come out of WWII. Oh no, that's the Bell YFM-1 Airacuda. Meet what has to be the strangest bid for a conventionally-designed heavy fighter:

It's beautiful, in some strange way, but somehow, I don't think I would have wanted to get in that deathtrap.

But hey, it could be a good plane here in game. Specifically, the YFM-1B, which had a belly gunner and got rid of those ridiculous blister windows. It would be a perfect heavy fighter, only with 2 or 3 gun positions, instead of, well, you know, 1.

Random Thoughts Of The Day:

World of Warplanes? More like World of Bots-that-are-designed-to-fail-so-you-lose-as-often-as-you-win.

Heavy Fighters? More like Obsolete Flying Bricks.

Attack Aircraft? More like Bomber-wannabes.

Autofiring derp guns...want...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

As others have said, the Twin Mustang has been in the game files/supertest since waaaaaaay back in the day. She isn't a new plane by any stretch of the word. But I have the feeling she's going to be WoWP's T-44-122.

It's a shame, really. The T-44-122 does actually at least exist. It's very rare(it's not available to regular players), but it's done being tested. I believe it once was intended to be a Supertester gift.

Here in WoWP, there is no sign of the Twin Mustang having fully completed it's testing. I suspect that the Twin Mustang will probably be WoWP's MTLS-1G14. That is, mostly done being tested, but still tested off and on for a while, but never released for the longest time.(WoT is just about to release it, but we've known about for 5 or 6 years)

Just for kicks, here's the song the last part of that sentence(not in parentheses) was referencing. Enjoy!

Remind me again why we don't get to play on the test server ever?

That's just dumb.

Because you might comment, suggest or infer, and we now know, if you can't shake you head in the affirmative, it is not welcome.

I got to drive that MTLS-1G14 once in one of those the early public tests held for WoT...it was hillarious slicing through light armor rapidly...

As if it existed, but forgotten...P-51JP is probably the same...

Oh man, back in the pre-config days, that takes me back. Handled like trash and anemic T/W. Made the FJ-1 Fury all the better because of it, haha.

The Airacuda was designed to counter waves of enemy bombers not be a heavy fighter.  The idea was good but by the time it was close to being ready the war in Europe had shifted to offense vs defense and the project was scrapped.

Yeah, I know. But ingame, we don't have "bomber interceptor"s as a class. What is the Airacuda in this game if not a Heavy Fighter? Is it a bomber? Nope. Is it a Light Fighter? Heck no, it's WAY too big. Is it a multi-role? Same problem. It's too big, and it's twin-engined. Now, for the last category: Is it a GAA? No way. It wasn't designed for that purpose and it shows. For one, it's way too clunky and bulky to dodge antenna towers like a proper GAA can.

Therefore, by process of elimination, if the Airacuda was in this game, it would be designated as a Heavy Fighter.

As far as WoWps is concerned, Heavy Fighters and Bomber Destroyers are the same thing and, to be fair, the overlap is there.

Which raises an interesting thought - would that mean that the Defiant should be classed as a heavy fighter? Tier 2 heavy fighter or something?

Because what Tier 2 needs is a high hp aircraft with a quad .30 cal turret with almost full hemispheric coverage with a highly experienced turret gunner from all the Beaufighter players. The complete lack of forward firing guns is a non issue.
