Hadn't played wow for some time until I was able to get back to it with a maxed out pc.  wow is right #I'mLovinIt

One big improvement are the shockwaves ... awesome.

I used to play wow on my old laptop (Asus) ... then one day, wasn't able to.

Now with my cyberpowerpc ... I'm usually in the top 3 without too much effort.   I'm convinced there are good gamers out there with crap equipment, I'm proof.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to the community, looking forward to perusing the forums now that I've found them.

-YouGoBoom_2  :P

(gonna have to figure out this problem though ... can happen if the game is idle, or right as I'm hitting boost going after an enemy, trying to save a friend.   so frustrating)

I like this version and think it's beautiful.

I just started playing again recently and, tbh, can't remember playing the original version.

I'm reading in the forums here that some (many?) are frustrated with 2.0.

Anyway I seem to do well in lower tiers against bots but at T6 and above the talent really picks up and I die a lot.

I also have game crashes, like every 5 games or so, mostly at game loading and just after game start.

I usually get restarted within about a minute and don't lose much battle time.

I'm running a good rig also and I would hate to have to cut back on details and effects.

GL, GH and see you in the air

Welcome back!

A crash could be caused by many different things. Program crashes are logged into a file. Please submit a ticket to support, they may be able to help you out.

Thanks :)

I had checked out the support area for crashes and it was a bit over my head ... need to find some time where I can research what they need etc, just have been living with it.

The older version played darn near on anything that had a browser, then they upped the physics and graphics.  I suppose a lot of what were seeing, the lower spec'd machines don't see *shrug*

Sounds like we need to dedicate some time to this crash thing, eh?  :)

I don't want to burst your bubble...but....most of the "teammates" you're besting are bots.  The bots have 3 skill level settings (novice, veteran, ace).  The lower the tier, the lower the bot skill setting.  This means they are both easier to kill enemy "player bots" and easier to best in score, your "teammate" "player bots".

Want to know who's a bot?  Try this simple mod, linked by Krautjaeger.

The big benefit of this is that it helps you know both who to assist on your team (players are usually better than bots) and who to target as a priority on the enemy team.

Mine crashes roughly every 40 or so battles - it's hard to remember exactly how much.  Crashes were more frequent early in 2.0 though, and there was a bunch of talk about it on the forums.  Fortunately I can load back in pretty quickly and there are respawns anyway, so it isn't a big deal.

You may think about submitting a ticket to support about this issue. They have a check tool that gathers information. You can investigate a little as well if you are PC savvy. WoWP creates a log file with the information on why the game crashes

Its a bunch of text, and code-speak, but its a great way to see what happened if you feel up to it.

The log files are located here:

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEAppData\Roaming\Wargaming.net\World of Warplanes\logs

The log files will have a .dmp file with the same name. .log files are named after the date, the log file for January 25th 2016 would be 160125_xxxx.log. We need two files with the same name, one that ends in .log and one that ends in .dmp, for example:
160125_11111.log and 160125_11111.dmp

You can open the .log file and scroll all the way down to the bottom. If the text just ends mid-string, that's a good indication of a crash related to Windows, and not the game. (Commonly) The game crashing will display a string that displays the reason for the crash.

Example:

"96.003 INFO: [SCRIPT] (scripts/client/audio/DopplerEffect.py, 41): [AUDIO] DopplerEffect; Activated
Access violation (0xC0000005) at 0x00000000
Data execution location 0x00000000"

Oh, I know.  Usually the ones with only a first name are bots, easily spotted.  Even during the skies of abilone and 99% real players I did well, I'm still convinced the p.c. helps make the player ;)

:P Which plane was that?

***

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

I have a question: many of us have had a serious issue involving bomber bombs not reloading. Could you look into it?

Remember, remember the 14th of... June, the day of patch 2.05.  Some say it's great end-game content, some say it's horrible, but history will always recall which it actually was.

Spoiler

Can that be submitted later in the day or a couple of days later?  When it happens I just restart WoWp and load back into the battle quick.   Does every .dmp file indicate a crash?

Yes it can! The name of the file is the date and time of the session that the crash happened in. Also yes, a .dmp file does indicate a crash

I haven't yet, as I have no photographic evidence of it. Others around the forums do though, if I could find them I would point you to them. Although there is a certain thread that does have identical pictures: http://forum.worldofwarplanes.com/index.php?/topic/51349-ju88a-bombs-will-not-reload/

The very first post on that thread has pictures of the exact bug I was telling you about.

They aren't mine, so I'm not sure if they would be very helpful for you, but it is photographic evidence of my problem.

Edit: everyone else on that thread seems to have the problem as well. Just in case you needed extra proof.
