Assign players to one side or the other by random selection. Get rid of the choice between sides and just go with the random assignment button.

Another possibility is to assign alternatively. One player to Axis, next to Allies and so on. This will surely come close to balance in an easy, straightforward way.

Players will then need to select tier and airplane according to their hangar

The first time I tried the event, I chose Axis... and it was depressing. (Near the end Axis was down 10k, while allies were only down 1k)

It seems to me that they need to understand that the population can't really support this kind of event fairly, and some measures ought to be taken to make it less one sided.

A simple answer is to give the same loot to both teams. Give bonus boxes based on performance. I played 5 matches, give me a loot box. 10, give me 2. Bonus boxes depend on my performance.

As long as it's tied to victory people will find a way to game the system

or simply not recording the victory during the confrontation.

i was under the impression that there'd be an increasing handicap for the winning side that gets reduced if the opposing side wins. Other than 12 people trying to kill a single bot there didnt appear to be any handicaps at all.

Well, I believe Axis actually won once. My guess is that the handicap reset after that, so the event ended before the handicap was enough for them to win again

The only time I recall Axis winning was when a lot of people coordinated to select Axis that night.

The only reason I like Allied is because I suck in Axis planes. Well I do like the A6M3-3 (or whatever it is) however.

The bots suck worse than I.

It's plane imbalance, axis GAA bots are virtually useless and they do not know how to prioritize targets with bombs, so is axis planes,

generally less maneuverable. The me-1101 is inferior to F-86A in altitude, speed and turn rate, and tons of imbalance everywhere.

In Theory, there is no difference between Theory and Practice.
In Practice, there is.

All GAA bots are horrible. They all just use their ordnance on the first target they see

..."nor are there any commemorative medals (there were for both JPN threat and Thorhammer) to incentivize changing sides"...

These are the commemorative medals of the event. (Are these the medals you refer to?)... but I dont know why they are not active, I have participated almost every day.

Same. More bugs I guess? Knowing the quality of this game, it wouldn't surprise me if it were yet another thing bugged.

Random Thoughts Of The Day:

World of Warplanes? More like World of Bots-that-are-designed-to-fail-so-you-lose-as-often-as-you-win.

Heavy Fighters? More like Obsolete Flying Bricks.

Attack Aircraft? More like Bomber-wannabes.

Where did you hear that at? This type of event is fairly popular. The new version of WoWP does lend to some challenges and changes from running it the old way.

No sir it is not popular.

It's only popular because it brought in as much player as the Wheel of Fortune...and it lasted only one day.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.
