I had never paid attention to the unnoticeable corner in the tech tree, until

I had enough exp to research the legendary La-15. To my surprise it has become

an all arounder that fits my play style well: 3 buffed NR-23 has good trajectory and

dense shell "rain", 2000m is quite enough altitude in current meta as long as you do

not go too high, and better than average maneuverability making you capable of

circling even with Ki and Yak. La-15 is, in my opinion, the most balanced t10 fighter.

It has better energy retention and roll rate than Yak-30, and is agile enough to dogfight

with those high altitude fighters. In the second battle, I was much impressed by its performance.

That reminds me of the attacker in 1.9 meta, which is a also a well balanced mid-altitude

fighter favored by many, and medium tanks in WOT.

Spoiler

Guess it would be even better if La-15 could get the same engine like Mig-15bis does.

It was pretty good when I get to use it during 2.0 open test when they gave literally one tier per day...

...it'll be a long time until I can go up there though...

I had left the LA line a long time ago, not long after researching the La-5, but came back to it in 2.0. Started with basically a stock La-5 and have had a ball with it ever since. I've gotten to T-8 so far and am really enjoying the entire line so far. Kind of reminds me of the Spitfire during 1.* days. Looking forward to the rest of the way up, especially since so far I have yet to really encounter any kind of a grind, everything has been fun so far.

I'm actually more concerned about the "disappearing sortie" problem shown in the screenshot (note the 00:00 spent in battle), which is very common after 2.0.2...

My Do 217 M has recorded more battles than sorties due to this bug...

Sadly that plane was changed into 1st generation soviet anti-ship missile LOL...all cuz MIG had the power

and monopolized plane business.

More like Russian version of spitfire. La-9 stands out as having 4 23mm, not quite strong as spitXIV, but La-15

beats Swift by its 3 laser like 23mm, after you go through the weird La-160, which has twin revolver 30mm. La series

has the better weapon combo compared to other Russian fighters.

Yak-15 gets two of those NR-23 lazer cannons at tier 8 (pray you got it from somewhere else and it gets real fun from stock) and its successors get the same 3xNR-23...but yeah, in the prop era the Lavochkins got uniform caliber and good weapons in early access to B-20 at tier 6 and uniform NS-23 from tier 7, while the heavy Yak requires unique skillset to use properly and light Yak having to throw lighter shells in exchange for superior handling...while MiG sacrificed its arms for altitude performance (two ShVAKs at tier 6!), which is of dubious value in 2.0 meta.

The migs weak link in wowp is the 210. Rest of the line is amazing. One of my favourite fighter lines.

I agree about the La-160.  It's solid without being great for its tier but it feels totally different to other aircraft in the line.  Good to hear it gets better.

The i-220 is an absolute killer of a plane.  The i-250, not so much, the guns are not very accurate.

I-250 used to be the most accurate 37mm in game, but does not fit the current meta
