I gave it engine tuning, improved flaps and one other maneuverability buff, then gave the pilot the 40% improvement to those with +2 skill points, and that thing turns on a dime.  Which it needs to do, because those guns are okay, but not great.  If I can keep from getting double-teamed, and can get around on almost anything.  If I can't, I'm dead, because it only takes a few hits and that thing is toast.

I helped win two Axis battles tonight - any point that had defense fighters was meat on the table for this airplane.  I like that its really fast, too.  It's a keeper.

The regular Spitfire V is pretty damn cool in its own right, but taking it and giving it a much higher operating altitude would seem to make a great tier VI fighter

A higher operating altitude AND improved credit generation!

Yeah, the DB605 is a great premium at tier 6 and I'd recommend it to anyone whether they are new or a veteran of the game.

yeah the DB605 is probably my favorite T6 to play.  I usually play T5's instead, because I'm not very good yet, but when I do play t6s, the DB605 is my favorite.

TLDR:  The plane removes one of the biggest weaknesses of the most "Turn" & Burn of light fighters, including the Spitifre... Altitude performance.  That makes her a very strong combatant and a better, more rounded fighter

When I play something like a Spitfire, Zero, I'll chew planes up close to the deck, but look helplessly up at bombers, or if I dare to fight higher, end up struggling with weaker performance.

When I play something like a Bf109, I'll cheerfully fight at higher altitudes, do dogfighting at lower altitudes in a pinch, pick on bombers.  But dealing with Zeroes, Spitfires is a nightmare.

But the Spit.V DB605?

The things this "German" plane loses out to the P39N-1 are in raw speed and firepower.

This plane can outdogfight most planes except Zeroes.  Sanctuary at high altitudes doesn't apply against her.

Airacobra is best plane at mid-tiers, but I may be biased.

No the closest there is the... T6, USSR.. P-39Q-15... Airacobra its a pretty decent LF essentially the same A/C without the 4x30 cal wing guns.

l have both and do equally well in either with maybe a slight advantage to the 39-N

Q has 10 more HP and 10 more rate of roll
