Hold on, what game are you playing that GAAs get escort? :amazed:

"loosely flying in an uncoordinated gaggle in the general vicinity of a GAA". Happy?

At low tiers its often more beneficial to mow down as many of the attacking fighters as fast as possible before going after the attack airplanes simply as a matter of economy - the attackers are huge chunks of HP that must be slowly whittled down while the fighters are small and easily killed off; personally up until tier 4 my preferred tactic is to simply kill enemy fighters faster than their attackers can cap (each enemy fighter you kill resets the cap a certain amount). Only if the attackers are unescorted will I attack them and I'll still break off as soon as an enemy fighter wanders into a cap (unless the attacker is so low on HP that killing him will be faster).

Of course, if you pick up a tail, shake him as a priority - getting yourself killed over a friendly cap is the worst thing that can happen as it gives the enemy the highest number of potential cap points and it will take your team two kills to make up the points loss of your one death. If you pick up a tail and you can't beat him, try to lure him out of the cap. That way, if you die, you don't contribute any points to his team. At higher tiers this becomes important to protect high-value caps like Plants, Command Centers or Missile Bases - if you're gonna die, try to die where it won't benefit your opponent.

But... Mercsn has already covered that in dome of the links o7 Happy flying and hope to see you around in the higher tiers.

Not likely, I played a few battles tonight at tier 2 and was totally ineffective. Tier 1 looks like my limit for this game.

Planes require reflex...something that is not needed in Tanks or Ships, and constant awareness on three planes (pun intended) as opposed to two.

...and tier 2 is where the really powerful premiums start to appear...better luck next time.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Don't worry about that - it takes time and a lot of losing at tiers 1 - 3 to learn your way around things. I didn't figure most stuff out until tier 5.

Based on our fight last night, you should try changing your key binds so A and D control your rudder/yaw. What I was doing repeatedly was using my rudder to cut in under your turn to give as fleeting a target as  I could to your guns.

You should also have shifted caps rather than try to contest the one I was fighting in - shift to put pressure on our other cap rather than trying to defend. At tier 2 its a little hard because of the low  speeds involved but that also means that forcing people out of position is easier. Plus you can solo-cap easier at this tier

So the reason I thought I was doing well was because all but 2 or 3 on each team are AI.

So did I but on the other hand, its a good learning field for the basics - you get to experiment more with tactics and you learn what it takes to flip a cap point.

You're unlikely to meet more than four humans a team on average even during peak hours at the peak tiers (3 - 6).  There was only ever one game I've played since I started in November that was majority human with only 3 bots per team. Not counting the Albion event.

What DOES go up is the skill level of the AI fighters, becoming more aggressive and more "human-like" in their love for singling out human targets and headhunting them through the melee. At higher tiers this can become a constant pain with monsters like the XP-58 screaming into the middle of a fight just to nail the human (you)
