Rework squall line or leave it failed

Poll: Squall Line Rework (17 members have cast votes)

How do you think squall line should be improved?

  1. Increase players' HP if he does not die throughout the squall line (9 votes [52.94%])

  2. Improve players' aircraft stats such as maneuverability, overheating, engine thrust, etc. (1 vote [5.88%])

Squall line has been one of the sources of imbalance in this game.

For so many times we witnessed a player running out of HP after

squall line facing enemy players with full HP, and countless people

trying to crash before squall line so they could exploit the game mech

and be of full HP after squall line. It needs rework, as it does not encourage

positive gameplay.

 

Players who adhere to the rule of not dying should be awarded more, that

could be increase in HP before squall line, or increase in plane meneuverability

if he insists in not dying before squall line. There are many other ways for

players good at killing to influence the outcome.

I think that any player airplane that cannot respawn before the squall line should be healed for a large % of their HP (similar to the Field Repairs regeneration health mechanic currently in play but with players regaining a larger proportion of their HP).

 

Also, throw us a bone and make it so people get XP and Credit bonuses based on how few times they died in the game.

a heal as it begins would be nice otherwise i like it as is.

Squall line needs to have a randomized occurance window and zero warning to avoid gimmicky solutions such as auto hitpoints heal. Another solution is repair zones on all maps with extra respawn time penalty if killed within X seconds of Squall onset.

 

WG is aware Squall needs a rework.  They're just too stupid to implement one or both of the above solutions.  

 

In the meantime,  the work-around is to just crash (outside of a sector) and get yourself a fresh plane too.

I believe it'd be better to either give all players one respawn (if you're dead when the squall line hits, that extra respawn is consumed to return to combat) or add a way for players to repair outside of Airbases. Maybe make spawn points some sort of "HQ" that have an invincible repair station :sceptic:

I also think separate dedicated respawn/repair bases is a good idea.  I really think it's cheap that crashing to quickly defend an airbase is a viable tactic.  Maybe if you capture X zone, you unlock Y respawn/repair point.  Additionally, each map should have a repair point if they aren't doing something for people who survived the squall.  As it is, there's no benefit to living through the squall; if you forget to crash a wounded plane during the squall warning, there is in fact a negative to having survived the squall.

How about this:

If at the moment the squall line arrives, you are alive: you will be awarded one respawn chance.

If you are dead at the moment: this will be your last respawn.

 

In the current system it's full HP v.s. damaged (deliberate crash vs. no crash), but if we changed into this it will be full HP v.s. one full HP life + one damaged life.

this way, there will be no point of deliberate crash anymore, as you are simply reducing your own lives.

Good idea, anyway squall line definitely requires rework: it's to give players a chance to win, not 

to deprive them of their chance

Maybe if we begged them not to randomize it, they would.
