Hey Everyone!

As some (probably not many) of you know, I'd been having technical issues with the World of Warplanes client (it would crash EVERY time I loaded into a battle...) and technical support was not very helpful. Anyway, I got a new computer over the holidays and I'm currently downloading the game... system exceeds the requirements for the game by a very large margin, so if this doesn't work, I'll be moving on.

Cheers!
Glenn

You should be ok. I have a new-ish system and I have minimal issues. I've only had a handful of crashes so far.

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Hey man, another blast-from-the-past name.  I hope you get it working on the new system.  Nothing worse than continual wipes at Get It To Run boss.

Mine crashes at least 5 times a week, at about 10pm when my alarm clock goes off and I realize it's time to get ready to go back to work. I'm getting too old for overnights.

Thanks guys!

New rig is up and running with Warplanes! I feel like a complete nub with the new mechanics, though! It's a lot to get used to with killing planes doing nothing for supremacy... So far, it seems like you gotta kill all the GA as quickly as possible, then try to steer your bots for the communications center and rocket launch sites - is that what everybody else does?

Cheers!
Glenn

Bot GAA are not very competent...the player-controlled ones would tempt you to leave combat and into full-time interception duty...but they just keep coming back before the 5-minute mark, and you really can't be everywhere at once even in a top tier jet...at low altitude to intercept GA.

Thus, freeing up the bots is more important, but sometimes you just can't wrench them out...like bomber flight's pathing coinciding with spawn making any respawned bots engaging those bombers as top priority...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

I've gone to flying mostly GAA as they're the main influencers in battles. It's kinda sad, but at least they got most of their maneuverability and effectiveness vs aircraft back...

Cheers!

In a decent fighter, you can solo flip a zone that's only defended by defense bots, provided there are enough bots to cap the zone (never factories and sometimes not missile bases or command centers if a friendly died in the zone after killing a bot).

Ga are soooo slow relative to map size and target location.  In the old game, once you snuck into the enemy side, you had targets.  Now you have to fly back and forth and can't really sneak.

I prefer bombers to ga if I'm in a mood to do ground work. Sooo much faster, fast bomb reload, gobs of hp and usually good defensive guns.  Oh, and I don't know what the appeal of "high altitude" is; I run them at low alt (well, the a26 and rb17, haven't used to DE middle bomber yet, Blenheim I don't care for because it can't pepper a target group).

Have you ever felt very, very safe at 4200 meters in RB-17 where literally nothing but player-controlled heavy fighters can have the faintest hope of attack you (as top tier, not even Flak can reach that high)? Even then, your rear gun would tear their engine apart and knock their pilot out as you cruise at 300kph and tearing up the pursuer as they are exhausted of energy...while fighting your own battle, soloing sectors totally out of sight and out of mind of everyone else that don't take a careful look at the minimap...slowly but surely.

Starting from tier 7 GAA goes fast enough between sectors and pack the necessary firepower to reliably solo sectors...the IL-10, to be precise. The IL-8 is a bit on the slow side and the 265 has iffy firepower against hard targets and fewer ordnance. I can see that you haven't went beyond tier 6 for GAA in 2.0, where the firepower levels are still iffy and still go too slow to matter.

I couldn't play after the 2.0 update. Tech support was zero help. I'm glad I just uninstalled, reinstalled, and didn't have to spend thousand bucks. hamburger emoji <<

I never could get into 2.0
having only conquest mode was to dull for my liking.
on the plus side looks like more public awareness is taking place.
maybe they should've done this in previous versions
