as much as i 'stiffen' while flying all tiers of heavies...

i can't say T5 heavies in particular make me smile as much as the world's most beautiful plane, the T5 Spit I

followed closely behind by the P-40, which i have no business flying well but i've nevertheless banked more CP than any other LF in it's tier

even as a son of a ww2 C-47 pilot, it's still my earliest memory of any ww2 plane...  that shark-toothed grin haunted me

You must mean the P-47. As a kid I received a P-47D toy with functional rockets and bombs, battery operated so it made noise and the MG's blinked red. Probably still up in the attic. Have always loved that plane and despite the P-51D always considered the best of the war (USSR planes not even considered I'm sure) the Jug could hold its own, absorb lots of damage and deal it, and was loved by troops on the ground for it's ground attack ability.

I think P-40.

Nothing much in tier can match it for speed, actually still turns OK, has OKish altitude performance & the 6* 12.7mm rip through enemies very quickly with no concern for overheating the guns.

So after posting this I had a bunch of pretty poor battles with it.

Mostly I think part of my adjustment to the new camera, I think I'm more dialled in now.

I did take the opportunity to experiment with higher altitude play than I've normally played it at & was pretty pleasantly surprised with how well it coped up about 2.5km where bot bombers hang out :)

Should note I've got a pretty much max speed build: both engine gurus & aerodynamics expert on pilot with engine tuning, polish & lightweight airframe equipment so Your Results May Vary.

I didn't notice much difference between LaGG & Yak-1 other than LaGG being noticeably less good at turning -> inferior.

MiG-3 is my most recent acquisition, its really something else after playing a bunch of pretty low altitude capped planes.

Its nice being able to enter combat fast & high altitude. Turning is not the best, lacks the kick of 20mm cannon but it does have good dps & you don't have to worry about guns overheating.

With all the bombers around now its got a good anti-Bomber/Heavy mission now.

I really enjoyed the MiG-3, but the I-210 after it is a real stinker. You get the choice between the stock 3x .50 cals OR 2x 20mm cannons with less dps and a much faster overheat. I had to force myself to play that thing. I must say the I-220 was definitely woth the wait, though.

Anyway, back on track. My two favorites would have to be the Bf 109E and the IL-2 mod. The 109E is by far my favorite of the 109's. You still get a feel of the trademark 109 speed and altitude performance, but you don't have to deal with the neutered armament of the later 109's. The IL-2 mod., just like the main line of Ruski GAA, is loads of fun an it absolutely prints money. As a bonus, I just got the sick raven camo for it for free in an Albion loot box.

The XFL-1 is a good one too, but the T6 P-39N-1 scratches that Airacobra itch much better for me.

Or he could mean C-47 ie Douglas Skytrain or Dakota

I have flown as a passenger in them a couple of times, uncomfortable to say the least LOL

When I started playing I liked the HF and GA. TnB just not my play style. I much prefer the Mustang 1a over the Spitfire 1a.

Now that I have more games in and am settling in what my preferences are, I am finding the versatility of the MRs suiting me. Going through my statistics, which is a pain as I can only use the WG interface, I have longer sorties, and do more damage/shoot more planes down in MRs than the others.

Planes I like at Tier 5

Yak 7

Fw 190 A-1

Hurricane II

Mig 3 for when I get tired of bombers way up there

isn't it funny how diff planes 'fit' better for diff people?

some of the ones listed i would never touch...   what is wrong with you people!     somebody must have hurt you badly as a child

lol...  thank goodness there's so many planes to choose from

and i'm going to stop thinking in battles   "aww, he can't hurt me flying that POS"

my dad flew the Gooney Bird, and the P-47 is one of those planes that i would never touch...

The P-40 is hands down my favorite tier 5 plane so far. Fast as hell and great at climbing to high altitude. It looks amazing in chrome and rips enemies apart with its 6 .50 machineguns

BOOMERANG.

Ya man! Got one in the barn but have not played it much since I am working may way down the tech trees. That and the Seafang at tier VIII are my favourites, but have to spend more time in that little Rang. Nice stable platform and 20mms to boot. The a6M3 is nice but the cannons tend to overheat quicker and yo have to time your shots far enough in front to hit. The new French higher tier fighters I have yet to spend considerable time in to have opinions on.

Oh this is an easy one.

1.  I fire up you tube and search "John Williams Music"
2.   eventually find Tie fighter attack on loop
>PRESS PLAY<
3. go to hanger

P-40 (Skilled&equiped for T&B) = X-Wing.
P-38 =  Y-Wing! (Tuned Engine,Polish&Flaps because armor just slows me down)

Lock S-foils in attack position :izmena:

Question: what does ab fab means?

My favorite T5 is Hs129, Ju88A and Spit I.

Hs129 is (I think) the fastest attacker at T5, and has the ability to engage aerial, soft and hard targets.

Ju88A is a decent bomber with good all-around performance

Spit I is probably one of the easiest-to-learn fighters.

IL-2(mod) with Marina behind its controls...

May [she] be available to all someday in the future...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Thanks bro.

Given my experience in Tornado, I think I might just add Hurricane II into my T5 fav list after I actually get one...

XFL-1 is my favorite, that 37 tho. I Kind of want the P-39, but I feel like it will be an up tiered version, with not much more fire power since its all about the 37.

I enjoy the P-38F, XF4U-1, P40, Spit Ia, and IL-2 Mod if I am in a ground assault mood.

I wish I liked the Ju 88 still learning how to play it.

well, some may laugh, but my fab favorite is the ME209 v4,

i bought it for 5 bucks a year ago Christmas and i always fly it at least once when online.

always get top 3 unless i make bad mistake.

it was great in 1.9, a little more difficult now in 2.o,

rate of fire and damage output is down compared to everything else so picking proper targets is a must.

boom and zoom, avoid bombers as not enough firepower, and low hit points,

avoid fighters unless diving down to finish off low points, do not turn much,

i like to go after P38's cause the guys think they are too fast for everyone,... except the 209, surprise!, get em climbing altitude.

use a radiator, sight, and a speed one,

pilot i have the boom and zoom 3point (whatever it is called) and both gunsights to maximize the small bullet load,

use universal to light em up,

add a nice camo pattern ,

love it

I thought so too but playing the P-39N-1 it really is significantly better: seems to be easier to hit with the 37mm for some reason, more mgs, faster, better altitude performance.

Maybe right about the Soviet one though.

XFL-1 is definitely very nice :)
