I am more inclined to believe that the OP was showing one of those rare individuals that takes the time to climb a nimble low-altitude fighter up to extreme altitude, borderline stalling; while chasing down a bomber!

It's that. You don't usually see soviet fighters that high up. It's kinda funny when I start dueling with Bombers to capture a neutral zone (gotta watch out for those bombs, though)

This isn't very much known anymore with zoom-in removed, but T8+ pilots wear oxygen masks...except for those sneaky French in the NC 1070...I think you can still see pilot's close-up in rear gunner view with the correct zoom...
Takes something like 2-3 rounds of full boosts to get up there and can only fire for a couple seconds before stalling...

I did this yesterday in my Yak-1m. But then stalled out and couldn't finish the kill.
