So far I've had nothing but compliments O.o

And here I was thinking the WoWp server was full of nice peeps

It is by a large margin. I've already added like... 10 new people to my contacts LOL. Lots of great people, and only a few smudges (unlike WoT or even WoWS now)

What are good fighter lines for rocket shenanigans?  I've gotten a taste of it with the I-15 and I-16 and I want more.

Batplanes. BaNananananaaaBaNanananaaaa

*ahem*

The Blohm und Voss  line from tier 8 onwards (down the Focke Wulf tree) have loads of rockets and 20mm gatlings to boot. The Tier X Blohm und Voss carries 56 of them.

I don't know how many they fire per salvo (they're volley fired) but 56 ought to be enough for most people :P

I'm only at the tier 7 dora right now. You only get rockets (and only two of them) from tier 6 with the A-5.

Apart from that, the Me 262 has the same volley-fired rockets, but tops up at 24.

For more traditional rockets, the American Republic/USAAF Multi-role tree has a lot of them as well.

The R4M fires in salvos of 8. Anything that stay head on for long won't live through it unless it's a GA or HF. The regular 24 rockets variant only take 60 seconds to reload on the B&Vs (IIRC 262 takes longer to do so and not very suited for using them) Gotta ask someone who has the tier 10 how fast the 56 (I've heard that it's nose-mounted around the air intake too) reloads.

The Mighty Mouse on F-94D also fire in salvos of 8, but has larger blast and higher damage (enough for attacking ground in a pinch) for 30 second slower reload.

These are top-end planes though. You need to go through some nasty hoops (Multirole fighters!) to get them...unless you can fork over a whole lot of free EXP.

Aww, the Focke Wulfs are actually plenty good. The Republics I cannot vouch for.

Yay I has Hien.

Looking past the Hayate though, I'm not sure I really want to go beyond it.

Currently at P-36, F2A, I-16(late), BSh-2, Bf109 B, Bf110 E, Eule, A6M1, Hien, Bristol 133.

ALSO

Bot heavy fighters are the WORST.  I find them to be the most dangerous enemy in the sky, even more than human players, solely because of how one-track-minded they are at killing you.  Since they're bots, they don't care about combat points or anything like that, they're usually one of the fastest planes in the match so if they tail you you're pretty much forced to fight them, they have tons of HP and have rear guns so you have to waste time taking them out and risk walking away damaged, if you DON'T take them out then soon enough they're going to shred you while you're fighting with other planes, and when you're fighting them you're leaving yourself open to getting jumped by a human player.  And that's all before even mentioning how much they like to go for ram-kills.  Air defense Beaufighters and Bf 110 Es are like the number one opponent I hate having to deal with.

None of these are really rocket lines except the F2A line, tier 9 (Starfire) and the Bf110 line leading to the 262

Depends on what you like I suppose - the A6M line ends in the J7 which seems to be a bit of a controversial plane (as in "people don't think its good"). The Bristol ends in the Swift which is really fast for a light fighter. The differences between russian and german GAAs you can read in another thread :P

I'm... not really looking forward to grinding out XP for two different planes to elite the Eule.  My completionist self will make me do it, but ehhhh this thing doesn't feel as fun to fly as the BSh-2 or the IL-2(mod).

On the other hand, I'm tempted to keep the Bf 109 B as my tier 4 keeper plane.  Blows the Ki-43-I, P-36 and F2A out of the water and the A6M1 is only marginally behind.

I'm hoping the Bristol 146 is more impressive than the 133.  I've already taken to calling them Bristol BBQs.

Interested in German GA? Get to 265 via 410 on the heavy line. Much easier that way.

The F2A is my tree keeper at tier 4...I just can't bring myself to like the 109 Family...

The 146 gets the Spitfire-style 8x.303...though 2.0 had not been kind to peashooters, so don't expect too much out of it.

If you liked the 133 then the 146 will be to your liking as well and you'll fall in love with the Spitfire Mk1. Its easily the keeper of tier 5.

Personally, though, my Mk1 has fallen into disuse because I bought that absolute beauty from 'STRAYA, that sealclubber supreme, that deadly dinkum from down under, the awesome Australian, the one, the only BOOMERANG.

Best investment ever. Its slower than the Spit, but it has more HP, turns as well as the spit, has the same firepower and is pure mayhem  distilled into a little barrel of HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS. Its like a bottle of Victoria Bitter - short, stubby and packs enough of a punch to put all lesser mortals to shame. Grinds credits and XP like nothing else.

Oh no, I hate the 133.  "Bristol BBQ" isn't a term of endearment, it's mockery.

Well.... then the 146 is going to be almost as annoying and the Spit Mk1 will be a chore until you unlock the 20mm Hispanos. Then it'll be a dream.

I know some people like the rows and rows of peashooters but I never liked em'. They're only really funny when you load gold into them and set everyone on fire IMO.

That's pretty much the Mustang line except the Ia which rocks 4 20mm. For a challenge and a hoot run the -9 line and get 37or 45mm cannon.  Watch folks die in confusion as they die in 1-2 hits while attempting to take you head on.

It's best described as a sniper line.  At 1000m max range and a ton of luck the big guns can be deadly.

My fav moment was when a A7M went for a head on pass and got blown up.  The pilot chatted me saying but it's a Yak-9.  Then I pointed out it had the big gun on it.  Say "cheese".

On the one hand, I'm interested in getting a tier 8 premium.

On the other hand...

- shouldn't get tier 8 premium until having an equal-tier tech tree plane

- don't want a US tier 8 premium

- not paying over $50 for the J8M Shusui, La-11 or Seafang

- NC 1070 seems interesting but holy crap that is ugly

- not certain if want Me 109 TL

I'm also avoiding premiums above my tier. Heard a lot of really good things about the Seafang though

Holy crap, six losses in a row(four in Bf 110 E, which was torturous.  Had I been in a regular fighter I probably could have saved some of those losses.)  Kept getting stuck with people who ditched the match after dying once, and this one yokel who brought his tier 1 buddy into a tier 6 game.
