Recently my great-uncle moved into an assisted living complex due to health issues, and he sent me a few things from his time in the USAF during the Korean War. During his time in Korea he was assigned to the 18th Fighter Bomber Group, around the time they transitioned from F-51D Mustangs to F-86F Sabres. Included in the things he sent me was a photo of "Mig Poison" he took of the only F-86F from a Fighter Bomber unit to be flown by a jet ace, Maj. James P. Hagerstrom, 67th FBS.




I thought I would share that photo, so I scanned it both front and back. The notes written on the original photo are from my Great Uncle, I'm not sure when he wrote them though.

That is one good looking plane. Thanks for sharing this, man. It sure is nice to see these kinds of pictures every now and then.
I have several fragile shirts. They get ripped a lot very easily. Not sure why.
