F4U Corsairs and the big paddle propellers

Did they ever put that big paddle propeller from the P47 on the Corsair and see what it did for the climb rate?  They have about the same engine.

Looks like not... the closest they came by my research was a change to 4 blade prop. They did muck around with a few different dia props too.

They put a huge 3000 hp Pratt and Whitney engine on which made the F2G, but the F8F outperformed it with a smaller engine so it was dropped
