The Beaufighter is probably the only truly multi-role aircraft out there; it can very effective at both GA and air combat, whereas other MR aircraft compromise somewhat.  It's also probably one of the only two true TnB heavies out there (the other being the Pancake).

Yeah, that's not entirely accurate. The P38s and F7F all turn better than the Beaufighter (along with the Pancake)

But they don't have 4 MGs in a 360 turret :P

By the time HFs lose their rear guns, planes become so deadly they can vaporize anything that is not evading in 1 heat cycle...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Pancake, if there's anything to grind at t8, it would be it, just for the comedy value. Also that's the plane that crashed in Roswell, NM

Currently on F4U-4 with 81.9k XPs on her, my goal is F-94D with that M61 Vulcan and Rocket arsenal.  Alas, I must suffer through through F2G also.

This is my current list of Multi role aircraft that I favor
Tier II I-5 ShKAS
Tier III Skua, weak forward guns, but at least it can get to 1,000m
Tier IV P-43 w 4 .50cal, it's a baby P-47
Tier 5
Tier VI F4U-1, Sentimental reasons, 6 .50 or 4x 20mm, is all good.
Tier VII F4U-4
Tier VIII Seafang
Tier IX F-94D w M61, Brrrrrrt
Tier X F7U, ok, it's gutless, but it's ok

    1. Try to secure the upper hand before attacking.
    2. Always continue with an attack you have begun
    3. Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
    4. You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses
    5. In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
    6. If your opponent dives on you, do not try run away from his attack, but fly to meet it
    7. When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
    8. It is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent

Sadly when I get in my P-47B I feel like WG said, "let's make a US plane that handles like the UK and German twins without the speed."   Which is weird since the plane only feels speedy at 200 feet.  So I counter turn and boost a lot in the horizontal then easy up to 500 feel then bank back to corkscrew through the area shooting any planes and buildings along the way while chanting for heavies not to see me.

For multis.. t4 p-43 or 204, t5 iid when cannons aren't weird or Yak-7 or F4U... I don't have enough past 6 for anything after.  The A5 is fun,  ussr line is a bag of cats, not sure..

Dunno for MRs to get better WG needs to dial back the shaded edges and allow their flavor out a bit more.

Their turn times are lower, but the actual circles will be larger because their optimum airspeeds and stall speeds are higher.  It would be fairly easy in a Beaufighter to get a -38 or something like that to overshoot you, and even if you couldn't, why would you hang out back there?

The Beaufighter has those 4 303's on top.

So even when your sitting on the -38's low six, unable to get your nose up, the 303's will eventually kill it.

The F2G used to suck. Hard.  Now it doesn't.  You still need to be careful but you can hold your own if someone tries to mess with you.

Was that when the F4U led directly to F2G and in turn led to Pancake?

F4U was pretty dog until update 1.9.

The altitude cap on it and the multirole nerf were pretty hard on it since 1.5
