and with bated breath I await...

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

I wonder if GP has been turned into a bot too. :sceptic:

edit: also patch notes? Maybe? Not? Ever?

Would some patch notes be too much to ask for?

What, you asking or is that just a rhetorical question?

RU probably already has the patch notes, EU will get them tomorrow AM, NA will get them 8 to 10 hour post patch.  Eat your porridge young Oliver and don't dare ask for more.

Can't it be both?

Why is it that NA officials always seem so out of the loop?

Like WoT's resident Vegetable Technician (CabbageMechanic)

Not only did he not know they were getting a (micro)patch, but he actually gave out incorrect info on the matter when directly asked if NA was getting the patch at the same time as RU and EU.

Knowing and communicating is his job!

Oh did you find the non-existent EU patch notes?

Its probably just the start of the event where they are giving away the plane for the 4 year anniversary.

That may well be the case, but is it unreasonable to expect them to actually confirm it by adding the reason for the downtime in the OP?

Edit: Doesn't a 4 hour downtime seem excessive for just turning on an event... especially since we just recently had a patch?

Usually they'd (WG in general, not WoWP specifically) just add the event in the prior patch, wait a week to turn it on, then have a downtime to remove the event files once it ended.

I presume there is a hotfix for something(s) from 2.01?

Like the audio loop when you get shot down with your gun firing was supposed to have been fixed but ain't.

Maybe cap flipping will feel a bit more logical again?

Download was only 13.something MB.

Edit: patched version is not 2.0.1.1 but 2.0.1.344333 according to client, previous version 2.0.1.343274

What gives? "Server temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance". Didn't see anything posted on scheduled maintenance, so we knew and could adjust in advance on such an important weekend.

09:15 GMT here. Some of us, either working temporarily overseas or in a goodly number of cases posted overseas with the military don't do US hours. That means we NEED the server up and what in the US would be the wee hours to do things like buy/sell equipment, planes on a MAJOR SALE WEEKEND, not to mention play the x5s. Now we can't do that. I don't mind what WG does to keep the game alive and kicking (thanks), but it's surely only common courtesy and not too difficult to be notified when.

After the server came back up, the discounts for the aircraft and equipment was gone. No more 50% off original price!

Not sure if still a norm, but server restarts always happened every day around 4am est/1am pst.  Usually for a half hour or so.

Actually. I looked around after your post (and it happening again today!) and found this, indicating server reset time for maintenance is 1 PDT=4 EDT=9 GMT (took c20 minutes), so apologies to WG.

Also looks like Daily Doubles reset at 4 PDT=7 EDT=12 GMT, which is what I'm used to in WoT.
