*Preliminary notice: the entire post is summarized in the title.*

Hi,

I downloaded WoWp the other night and I’m loving it so far. I am very new, with only a few matches, but I’m an experienced tanker and proud owner of a Centurion Action X, so I am no stranger to WG games and their economic system.

I own a number of premiums in WoT since it’s my main pastime. I don’t intend to buy any for WoWp, because it’s more of a side game for me. However, I still want to maintain a Tier X plane eventually.

My question is: at what tier are profits maximized for non-premium warplanes?

As we all know, income goes up with tier, but repair costs rise faster. In WoT, Tier VI is the sweet spot for non-premium credit making. It makes more money on average than both Tier V or VII, so most FTP players maintain a number of Tier VI tanks to make money. I’d like to know if that’s the same for WoWp, or if the peak is somewhere else.

Thanks!

- elledeejay

As high as you can go. As long as you run standard ammo and no consumables you will find yourself making big bucks as long as you don't die too many times and perform decently in battle.

You heard that - Tier X can be profitable if you go in naked. The ammo bill is outrageous when paid for in credits as tier go up, but standard ammo costs 0 all the way from tier 1 to 10.

Advice Here: http://forum.worldof...983#entry608983

Block Quote

Don't listen to anybody that advises you not to rush.  Fly what you want, when you want, how you want. If your goal is to finish all the lines, you can always go back and perfect your performance in any plane.  For myself personally, grinding is like job, I just wanted to get it out of the way, so I could go back and enjoy playing what I wanted.

The best way to get EXP fast is:

  • Get your x2 every day for every plane that you are grinding.  This will literally get you a plane twice as fast.
  • Premium account.  This will give you a further 50% more exp per battle.
  • Don't waste time flying something you have already researched the next tier, you could be grinding what you need.  Once you have researched the next tier, all you are basically doing is accumulating exp on the plane that you cant do anything with, unless you use gold, or you are transferring it to the pilot.  This doesn't get you through the lines the fastest.
  • Don't use up your free exp on the next plane, grind for the plane, once you get it, use your free exp to fully upgrade it, then your first battle will be in a 100% upgraded plane, you will do better and get more exp.
  • If you are in a heavy, multi-roll or light fighter, air targets earn more exp than GT.  In terms of gaining exp, hitting GT should be lowest priority.
  • Winning gets you more than losing.
  • If you are at the end of a battle and the last enemy is hiding, start hitting GT as much as you can, there is a lot of exp available if you can farm for a while.
  • premium planes are only good for training pilots and grinding credits, don't waste time in them unless you are complete all your x2 daily bonuses on each plane you are working on, and need the money to buy the next tier.  If you do fly premium planes, go to the crew tab and select accelerate crew training, this sill train your pilots faster and you wont wast exp on premium planes that you have to spend gold to convert.
  • The exchange for gold to free exp is garbage(and exchange for silver is even worse), try and avoid that, gold is better spent on premium account.
  • I bought all my higher tier planes on sale, yes you have to wait it out, but you will save enough for free planes rather than buying at full price.  Once a tier is finished, park it and focus on the other lines till a sale comes up, then make your purchase and rotate that line back into the mix,

I currently have all tier 10's except for the new line that was released a few days ago.  My play time is limited, but I am about 80% complete the tier 7 already.  The fastest way through the lines is to always be working towards the next tier, so whatever you do make sure you are still working on something.

Probably because there's a reason to play all tiers in Planes to begin with: Token collection, that the economy looks like what it is now...

...things might change if more people are playing...

Look for a fighter with multiple (4) 20mm cannons.

Fighters cost the least to repair, but I don't know of many fighters with multiple 30mm.

So look for a fighter with multiple (4) 20mm cannons.

This gives you a plane with a decent rate of fire, so you can get multiple hits in quickly.

And the stock ammo will do fine.

DICTA BOELCKE for WoWP
    1. Try to secure the upper hand before attacking.
    2. Always continue with an attack you have begun
    3. Open fire only at close range, and then only when the opponent is squarely in your sights
    4. You should always try to keep your eye on your opponent, and never let yourself be deceived by ruses
    5. In any type of attack, it is essential to assail your opponent from behind
    6. If your opponent dives on you, do not try run away from his attack, but fly to meet it
    7. When over the enemy's lines, always remember your own line of retreat
    8. It is better to attack in groups of four or six. Avoid two aircraft attacking the same opponent

Fighter with multiple 30mms?

The J7W series (4x30)

Ta 183 (4x30)

Ki-84 and Ki-94-II (2x30 and 2x20)

I-211 (3x37 ; the top gun are single-shot)

Ta 152 (up to 3x30, but they are single-shot)

Fw 190 A-8 and Fw 190D (2x30, 2x20, and 2x7.92)

A6M3exp (2x30 and 2x7.7; not available for sale at the time).

There are other fighters that use 2x30 as their sole arms too...

I like t5/6 planes, specifically light fighters. Less ordnance to reload. Though a t5/6 light fighter premium will take in the credits. Hopefully they have a sale soon!

The A6M3 is available in the carrier bundle, but not alone.

Thank you for all the replies! :)

My current plan is to get four Tier VI planes - a Spitfire, IL-2, Corsair, and Mosquito - then go from there. Which of those is easiest financially? Or is there a different line I should do for cash?

not the mossie.

Use the Beaufighter instead.

This. The Mosquito isn't the greatest plane to be in and even moreso the Hornet. The Spitfire still has pretty weak firepower for the new world.

I'd say the Corsair and Ilyushin would be easier on your wallet...but then again it depends on how well you can handle the planes.

Thank you!

I saw a Mosquito at an airshow and I’ve wanted one ever since, but I’m not set on getting a Javelin. I have heard that the Spitfires are good to Tier VI but are outclassed after that.

Considering this, it seems I should grind for the F7U and 40P, and keep my other lines at Tier VI. The other main thing I’ve been hearing is more guns = more cash.

I need codes lol.  Is email the only way?

Gonna buy a premium for credits soon but a free plane would really kick my late nights into overdrive.  Credit poor here.

Thanks again friend!  I got that free bundle of planes that cost 20 bucks in the store.  Really enjoying all 3 of them especially since they are planes I hadn't thought of getting.  That French Heavy is amazing to a noob like me.   Making gobs of silver with it last night.

Go to the announcements section of this forum - they have 3-4 other give aways.
