I'm thinking about upgrading from a 1080P display to a 1440P monitor. Although I don't see 1440P on the game's resolution options, I don't know whether that is because the game doesn't support resolutions higher than 1080P, or if it's auto-detecting my current 1080P display. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes it will. Game settings will only show what your system is capable of.

I tested it on my gaming rig up to 2560x1440 and my 2012 retina MacBook for 2880x1800 a couple years ago: http://forum.worldofwarplanes.com/index.php?/topic/39364-resolution/page__pid__560514#entry560514

I just got a 27” LG 4k, yet to test it with wowp, but don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work at 3840x2160.  But with the old GUI, I would say looking at the map, the target lock window, etc would be much smaller and harder to see versus lower resolutions.

I'm playing it at 3440x1440 straight from the graphics options. It doesn't play well, but it plays.
