Waaaaay back in 1.4 or something, skills were just meh. As long as the crew is at 100% proficiency I didn't really put much thought into it.

Now I see there's more ways to min/max with skills and upgrades. Experimenting with upgrades is not too expensive time and resource wise, but experimenting with skill builds is a bit more costly. So I haven't taken any skills at all for my crews that have 4-6 free points.

The wiki seems to be outdated, and so far I haven't found anything about them on the forums. Any tips on what's worthwhile is appreciated.

Silver is almost too easy to get if you run standard ammo and play well...

Have some DevBlog post:

Some skills have changed cost, but otherwise they are still applicable.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

I guess, rather than a generic description of the skills (which can also be seen in-game), I'm looking for something more along the lines of how useful they really are according to players experience. E.g. Is Adrenaline Rush really all that useful? Getting a string of kills in 10s intervals while capturing/defending a sector isn't particularly difficult, which makes the skill sound appealing but the benefits don't seem very tangible. It feels like even in fighters which overheat their guns quickly, they cool down quickly enough by the time I get a bead on another enemy. So I suspect that skill is more of a skill point sink than actually useful. The Raptor Strike is said to be good for BnZ, but the increased chance to cause crits and fire seems ambiguous since I have no idea how frequently I crit/start fires without the skill in the first place.

I have many questions for each of them, but to make it easier I suppose I should narrow down my question to:

  1. What skills should I start with for each class?
  2. What skills should I avoid or give the least priority?
