This message clearly shows that things go wrong with Wargaming.

I know because I worked in similar situations.
 We're talking about success awards to get careful attention from the disaster.
 Think of a bank in bankruptcy in its last bell offering attractive interest and services ...

I was expecting to receive some gold as I already have all of the planes.  But I think I just got some silver.  Is there any way to see what actually got added to the account?  Not sure what 'special consumables' I received, or if I got my hangar slots.

It has always depended on the provider of the goodies. Some are show up and get the goodies and other are do this and that, buy something, to get the goodies.

Once you get the 300 points, you have to shift-reload the page, before the claim option is available on the rewards tab.  At least, for me.

Yeah, you have to be level 10 on your alienware profile.   Don't know how much work is involved to get to 10, but it does not sound trivial.    Still, the way its worded suggests the level requirement might be lowered later?

Same for me.   I suspect that if you already have all three planes, either you get nothing, or you just get the silver value.    Did you track if your silver changed.   I think mine went up.....but am not sure.
I didn't bother tracking hanger slots......I have all the planes plus a millon empty slots from past crate events where I burned lots of my hard earned tanks gold.
