Apparently, the graphics card on my Lap top is not able to run the game causing the game to crash... I have NO issues with WoT, nor WoWs.  Guess I need to buy a new system. BUT I will be moronic if I ever think of downloading this game

I like how I log in this morning and find a bunch of new threads that sound like people didn't know this was coming...

After playing for a couple of hours last night I changed my vote to undecided.  My F-94 doesn't feel like it used to, all its advantages have been stripped.  Boosting eels like you are a cyclist peddling uphill against the wind.  Gun no longer has any sort of long range accuracy.

I'll stay with it for a while, interested to see what they fix in 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 and what is made available for Christmas.

I'm in denial because I'm interested to see what comes out between now and Christmas?  What am I denying?

Thin line between denial and eternal optimism. The game will either cease to exist or Persha gets fired. I'll wait to see what they do about expanded modes and overhaul Fisher Price flight controls and mechanics. Until then, Vradin and I are looking for online euchre matches.

I didn't say I was optimistic either, just interested to see what comes out.  They either rushed 2.0 or decided to release it on their original(internal) schedule and are using 2.0.1 to implement what they said they would be adding back in based on the CT feedback.

There is a 3rd scenario with a very low probably chance. Persha keeps their job and instead gets praised for their efforts with 2.0. The fresh intake of new players ACTUALLY like 2.0 and continue to play. While the remaining vets get tired of the 3 year [edited]and move on. WG reaps the benefits of new incoming premium revenue and its back to day 1 of WOWP launch. With a different mode. Whether or not the playerbase progresses upwards overtime will depend on WG's management as we all know to be mediocre to say the least.

Again heavily revolving around the very low chance of probability that this might happen. Just having a look at the reactions in youtube as is a major hub for MMO media, this may very well happen next year. Or not. Honestly I just hope this game does shut down. Let someone else try to reinvent the wheel. Persha had their chance in the 5 year long development cycle since 2012. And they blew all their chances. It's time to let a new aviation dev group attempt their fate in another Air combat MMO whether it be in WWI, WWII, or modern Jet era.

How many Modern Jet MMOs can anyone recall exists currently in the MMO world today? If done properly and is the only title of the genre, there could be much profit to be had for WG or another random publisher. Although thinking about it now there are 2 known titles that I know of that has multiplayer functions: DCS world & Lock On. Not sure if these 2 have linear aircraft progression through experience like WG's main structure for their titles.

I think the number of users or players may be dwindling. When Admiral Jingles the champion of the below average player starting liking it on YOUTUBE, we hit a new low.

I'm surprised nobody has found a backdoor to the player stats. Where are the coding geeks when we need 'em?

While WG is not obligated to be transparent in their actions, hiding the the number of online players for all 3 servers when 2.0 was released is the antithesis of transparent.

Perhaps if WG had taken this tact from the beginning, it wouldn't have been as publicly perceived as a failure.

And maybe we wouldn't have 2.0 players quoting average player numbers from a time they didn't play. Those averages mean nothing without 2.0 data to compare.

The sad thing is that WG doesn't learn from their mistakes. They released this before it was really ready, just like when they went live the first time. Why was it released without a colorblind mode for example? No forethought is the only reasonable answer. The population hadn't suddenly tanked. There was no true urgency to release 2.0 until it was polished. How do you release basically a brand new game & a few days later, promise great things 2 patches away? Why not incorporate those things prior to release? Priolia spoke of how easy it is with this new engine to create different modes etc, but offered no reason why they didn't take advantage of that prior to release. They are just short-sighted, or they don't understand Western customer expectations. They intentionally alienated their core player base without a second thought. It's a bizarre business model in my opinion.

Priola also said that "they" finally made the game "they" always wanted to make. Which begs the question, Why didn't "they" do it in the first place. I'm guessing that there was/is a lot of divisiveness within the organization. I am hopeful, because they cannot ignore all the bad press.

Mars, the poll is not very scientific, though you never said it was/would be, but trying to prove your hypothesis is not the way to go. I am not quite the same age as K10XD, and I admire his spirit, because we assume that old people dislike change, and as a general guide, maybe. Doesn't always apply though. AND, there are a lot of us old curmudgeons who not only "bend with the wind" because after all these years we realize change is a constant, BUt we question whether the change is for the "better" or for  "worse". I myself don't mind change, since our generation has seen the most dramatic changes within our lifetime, which will be surpassed in the coming years as Lithium batteries, smart phones, electric driverless vehicles, self-powered homes, and newer computers cause a revolution and re-invent the fabric of not only society but also human to human relationships. We are on the cusp of a new world order. But we also need to be vigilant, and constantly question authority. Civil liberties are going the way of the Dodo, and if we aren.t careful, the oligarchs will have complete control- plutocracy.- Canadians are great at questioning technological change- Marshal McLuhan, George Grant, Harold Adam Iniss, to name a few.

But to answer your questions, I am over 56 and last year I was closer to death than I cared to be. I have tried "green eggs and ham" and I could learn to like it if there were more changes added. I signed up to Wowp for aerial battles, dogfights. Fell in love with it after trying WT. BUT, they need to respect their customers, and stop treating us as some abject notion of potential market share. We are real people, not statistics.

Not sure how many ways there are around it, but they removed the WOWP server stats from the API
