Since today my few runs on WoWP were not that successful, I'll wait until tomorrow to see if I can get a better game to record. I got into a match with a whole bunch of high-end players, almost all of them in flights, and I wasn't really allowed to do much. On top of that, my UI broke mid-game (score froze, chat died, capture progress of sectors seemed stuck, so on and so forth), and I crashed when I returned back to hangar, so idk if I was even able to make a profit out of it considering we lost :(. In the meantime, here's the BSh-2 showing why it deserves its place in the soviet GAA line :bajan::

great video by an all-star ground pounder!    i enjoy flying the Lbsh and love the 10m, but to me, russian GAs in general pale compared to german GAs
but i'm going to give this one a fair trial!

Idk about that. Each has their own strengh, but they're both capable of getting the job done. That said, there are a few German GAAs that I believe could get a bit of a push in the right direction, which is why I created a thread about them in the Suggestions subforum. Oh, and I also like the LBSh, though the somewhat lacking gun combined with the lower health pool can get on my nerves sometimes. The BSh-2 can blow up a lot of ground targets with just one bomb and some lead, but the LBSh can't quite get there consistently since the guns deal a lot less damage. The Hs 129 B also has similar issues on its own tier, except its bombs are worse and don't recharge nearly as fast :sceptic:. Now that I think about it, the BSh-2 actually makes a better Hs 129 B than the Duck :amazed:

and i love love the Duck, so upon your recommendation, i've just this minute retired the LBSh and bought and fully-upped the BSh-2... surprisingly cheap

well, not surprising at all... it's a T4        i had just never considered a tg-less GA to be viable, until i flew the Duck and loved it

edit:  but i will miss those german ultra long range guns!

Ahhh that battle, that was a fairly fun one. Everybody was flipping caps and killing so fast that the game got to be pretty close, which also turned out to be great for earning a bunch of personal points. I was certainly 'Ruler of the North' in my F-94 constantly intercepting and killing anything that flew near the upper three caps.

Also just so you know, talking in flight chat causes that HUD bug, though recently there've been a few instances of it triggering on team chat going around.

And don't go head-on with an F-94D that has A2A ready for you.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

CHINA NUMBAH WAN

I even made a custom skin for my IL-10M!

I was aware of the rockets, which is why I didn't go there until there was no other proper option. I even tried to dodge them, though it didn't work out. Thing is that I'm pretty much dead if you get on my tail with the vulcan, so there's nothing I could do aside of try for a head-on. It's the same with a Pancake equipped with Tiny Tims :(

It boils down to "X stands no chance against Y" or aerial nascar. Very few in-betweens . As a fun fact, I did connect with my second bomb, dunno about the first one :great:

I was wondering. I suppose he was riiiight on the edge of the blast when it went off. I've actually damaged myself with my own bombs in the P-47 on a fairly regular basis but nothing major.

GAA against similar GAA, I almost ALWAYS win those battles.  It is a matter of knowing how to get the most "turn" out of your sky truck.  It's also a matter of who gets the initial advantage.  But that's also a matter of skill - if you decide early that you are going to shoot down the other GAA, and he doesn't realize it RIGHT AWAY, you have the advantage.  I couldn't believe he didn't see that you were trying to bomb-trap him.

In my case my priority was getting the cap and keeping him from taking out both me and the bot, preferably by shooting him down somehow. That's why at one point I turned to take out one last building. With my GAAs I've tried everything I can think of and it never turns as well as the other guy's, so instead I opt for other strategies like bombkilling or head-on rockets. I'm pretty sure he realized I was going for a bombkill after the first one went off, though maybe he still went for the kill anyways or he thought I'd get on his tail if he pulled off. Either way, I was lucky he crashed shortly after, as that gave me way into their Garrison and kept the middle secure for a little longer.

Also, since he went on the offensive so early, they were unable to capture their own Stronghold until very late, and I'm not sure if they lost a few bot GAAs to it. One important thing for any GAA player that wants to go shoot some aircraft is understanding that you're leaving your team with one less capable ground pounder, which means their capabilities of securing sectors takes a hit and it can spell doom for bots over sectors with lots of AA like Strongholds, as they don't give any more priority to them. That and GAA duels can go on for very long if things don't go as planned, so it's almost an all-in rush. In this case it would have paid off if he had not crashed or stalled the sector capture.

but that's not my job when flying GA...   my job is actually in the name of the class of plane i'm flying

If you only need 10 more capture points, and you have tail aspect on a red GAA, and you're all out of rockets/bombs?  That exact situation has happened to me more than once.  Getting the cap by downing a red GAA is pretty great.  What's even more great is getting the cap, wiping out 80% of the red's HP, then trailing him to the next cap area.  When he gets into the zone, finish him off and now you're reloaded with bombs/rockets and can finish the cap in one pass.  WINNING.

P-47B's rockets are still the crap M8, and they only allow one pair of triple bundles...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Well, new update's coming with a lot of crazy stuff, both good (well, mostly good) and worrying. Equipment went from straight upgrades to upgradeable sidegrades, consumables are pretty much a must for GAAs now, and apparently Specialist Configurations will force the top gear onto aircraft, which I think people don't really want on Multiroles and especially Heavy Fighters if they happen to run them without ordnance or partially :sceptic:. Also, replays are back and we can test plane configurations, and bot Bombers apparently should be able to do something for a change :great:

They had better have a specialist air-to-air configuration for my beloved Butcher Bird or I will be very, very unhappy.
