I'm quite sure that it's been more than two months since the Lbsh was taken away from me, but I'll give it a shot anyways. Dunno what's the gold-to-credits conversion ratio, but with nearly 20 million credits I don't think that'll be an issue. Wish me luck :izmena:

Edit: Sadly, they can't find evidence of me owning the aircraft. I guess it was removed when the game launched :sceptic:

His name was SeamusMacMattain.

Way back in the pre-launch days of World of Warplanes, the tier IV LBSh was a regular, tech tree aircraft. During that time, the same tiered and long forgotten Sh-Tandem was being tested as the premium offering, later to be removed and the LBSh became the premium itself, replaced by the BSh-2.

When the game rolled into 1.0, I thought I had enough premium Attack Aircraft to suit my needs and plans, but there was this one player who....I don't know....inspired me to seriously consider making a purchase.

He had a real passion for his LBSh, which included using it in ways that broke with how aircraft was "supposed to be" flown. I fought battles with him and of course, against him, watching and learning. Over time, I worked up enough courage to try to emulate the techniques I observed him performing.

It wasn't until 1.4 I finally decided to put an LBSh of my own into my hangar, not that I really needed it at that point. Sadly, the player who originally convinced me that acquiring this plane would be a very good idea and I learned so much from just left the forums shortly after my purchase and hasn't been seen with my eyes in the game ever since.

So, SeamusMacMattain, here's to taking my rusty bird into these post-2.0 skies....

Man, I forgot about the weird-looking Sh-Tandem, I'd like to see it come back. I think the LBsh lost it's 23mm cannons when it became a premium. Now it just has 20s, but it does keep the FAB-100s, and I believe the bombs recharge faster than on the Bsh-2? (let me know if they don't). You kinda missed a few dying targets while trying to capture that mining facility. Always finish off dying ground targets, especially if an enemy is shooting at them.

Personally I like equipping my aircraft with general survivability, rear-gun enhancements and improved weapon accuracy (yes, I forgot the names of the equipment). I don't find Concealing Livery to be a must-have since GAAs in general are the best planes to shoot out AA guns, but it's a decent option in my eyes, just like Self-Sealing Fuel Tanks on fighters. That said, GAAs with light cannons (20-30mm) can work fine without accuracy improvements, as they don't depend so much on every shot hitting its mark. Considering you like shooting at more... mobile targets, maybe better accuracy can help you out :playing:

LBSh never had 23mm; all it had was ShVAK, and before that the second slot were ShKAS too.

Sorry about speaking in a such a low tone, the family was having a "Sunday Morning Sleep In" and I was very eager to belt out the first battle in my new tier VI Hawker Tornado.

The mouth of the Tornado is an engine upgrade. The airframe just changes slightly around the cockpit and lets you turn slightly better (the Tornado's already middle-of-the-road in that regard). Personally I'd say if you want to run ordnance on it, get the rockets. The Bombs start losing effectiveness at tier VI, as do the cannons. If you want to shoot ground targets, stick to the Hurricane II. Overall, I find the Tornado to be an excelent Heavy Fighter hunter, often being able to keep up with them after a failed attack run, and a pretty good escort aircraft for GAAs. It's also not a pretty sight for enemy GAAs :( :playing:

You know what Q? That's the very reason why I am against using voice in gaming (and got booted from my first clan for that; a lesson learnt the hard way to read the clan's terms before agreeing to join).

It disconnects one from the surrounding world even more completely than headsets.

I get that same impression, even after this first and only battle with it thus far.

Trouble with me is I am not very good of thinking of stuff "on the fly," talking about it and performing a senses demanding activity, all at the same time, as seen in just about all the videos I have posted with my face and voice. However, I hope to improve on this as time goes by (a choice I am making and might come in handy with other endeavors).

Lately I've really been loving my A-26B. I fly it around 1.7k-2k meters since the thing can deal with most threats it faces, and it makes a world of difference on the Bomber experience. Bombs seem to actually hit their mark more often than not, I can actually make use of my speed instead of forcing boost to keep me from stalling every time I make a turn, and overall I can actually do some serious damage to sectors for once. I really wish that the German bombers got some sort of buff to their turrets, maybe then they wouldn't have to stay up in space. Either that or let them recharge their bombs faster.

After some analysis, my guess is that the Do 17z gets such a long reload time because its bombs are very strong in those numbers at that tier, but in practice that long reload time kills the experience, and the overkill damage doesn't justify it. For comparison on how strong its ordnance is at the tier, the A-26B's bombs have the same stats, just two tiers higher and with less overall bombs, and it can still destroy ground targets in one drop with the pilot skill :amazed:

I was tempted to try for the A-26B, but I didn't really have a surplus of playing time to make a decent attempt, so I settled for a discount on the Blenheim instead. From what I have seen, bot controlled A-26B's can be dangerous, certain player operated ones are downright deadly!

I have a ways to go to get that Dornier myself, still working through the Junkers 88A, but I do agree the turrets feel weak in the defensive department on both German bombers I have flown.

They have the same dps than the German GAAs of the same tier, which I find lacking on either aircraft, but moreso on the Bombers that don't really have a choice aside of pretending to be satelites. The A-26B has the dps of a tier VII GAA, which is why it can reliably take out pretty much anything else it stumbles upon. I really think the German's turrets should follow the same principle and be at least one tier higher in terms of dps, if anything because they don't have any other way to survive. If I could keep my Bombers within their optimal altitude without feeling like I'm serving myself on a silver platter I'd do it, I already do it with the Invader :child:

The original plan was to make things better, but that didn't turn out very well....

Although I explain some of those details in the video, I suppose the written word here could be used too. It all started when I wanted to make today's video, by launching OBS and World of Warplanes.

For whatever reason, the game and capture program weren't talking to each other anymore. After fiddling with settings and becoming quickly frustrated with the lack of positive results, I uninstalled OBS and downloaded a new, all inclusive version (since the one I had was the end product of a few updates and who knows, maybe corruption set it).

With a new, fresh copy, I adjusted the settings again, trying to match the look and layout from before. A few experiments showed the initial problem appeared to have been solved, the game and program were back on speaking terms.

Then I reinstalled the replay mod, with the hopes of having that option available to me again, for great looking screenshots (like at the top of this page) and dramatic UI free action moments.

Turns out that three truly is a crowd....

It's a good thing I write stuff down, sometimes forget when I performed a certain task last, like flying a progressive Japanese aircraft....

With the Christmas Season well under way, it's time to collect all of the goodies that one can.

I might be a day late on this one, but there is currently an event underway where by just playing a single battle everyday til just after Christmas could put credits, consumables and possibly a premium plane (I wonder what the plane will be, I am expecting a tier II, III perhaps a IV) in your hangar.

More details are here on that one.

The premium shop has a huge selection of aircraft, not normally available up for sale. I have given up on any Secret Santa surprising me with a winged wonder in my stocking, so I have an eye on one, even two mid tier planes I might gift to myself this year (one I have been waiting a very long time for, but with the changes in 2.0, I doubt I would do well with it now).

Now that I am done sounding like an underpaid salesman, on to my first reward/gift/whatever of the Season!

Now, who found the Easter Egg in that video? Well, in case you missed it or pressed for time and were unable to look, here is a hint....
