The title says it all.

I briefly tested 2.0, and thought, "Meh", an interesting project and maybe some people will like the arcadey feeling and the dumbed down everything.  Give people the option of choosing this different mode.

Then I realized I would be unable to play the WoWP that I love because this dumbed down mode will become the ONLY mode available.

I have been buying premium planes that I never fly because, like an idiot, I just loved collecting those beautiful aircraft and every single one of them felt different and special.

People on the forum had been screaming loudly that people who did this (like me) were idiots and now I really feel like a dumb stupid pokemon collector.

Now the countdown has begun and I feel sad.

At least you get a very lively hangar to watch your plane in...and a stupid restaurant you cannot dine in...

What a pity...WG wants to start anew without the old playerbase...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

for me it was when they changed the dispersion from skill based with some rng to rng based with a little skill. no more wing root snipes.

They started taking hearts once they made people wait for half-hour for a match...

Didn't they just removed that kind of crit altogether?

Did you see the Q&A from the devs? They are planing on bringing a superiority mode to the game

Q: Will the new Conquest mode replace the current game mode or will both of them be available? Can they somehow coexist after version 2.0 is released?

  • A: The new "Conquest" mode is implemented as a full-fledged replacement to the current game mode. Instead of the coexistence of the new and old game modes, we plan to implement multiple versions of the game modes based on the new game rules. These will offer players absolutely different and significantly more complex gaming experiences. We are also planning the creation of a game mode that will be very similar to the current Superiority mode.

...which will be ready a decade later...which is too late...

Bottom line, folks have exhausted their faith years ago...

yes afterwards though, the cone of spray and pray was a late change to the game in beta or early release (dont remember which). the crit thing got taken out later and honestly with the randomness of bullet trajectory it needed to be taken out, too many random long range wing crits.

Yes, to release an incomplete game at this point in WOWP's legacy is ill-advised and poor form. I'm not sure why the choice would be release it half complete and fix it later, when to this date we have been waiting for everything promised in the current version of the game, only to find out you guys have been plugging away at a brand new game for a new audience instead. It's disappointing to say the least; but, knowing the companies roots we should be well aware of the lack of interest in public opinion.

If you guys want to make this the game, then release it as a completed product. Want to have more than one game mode? Then release at the very least the current game mode, and this "new" one you want to force upon people. Please, be sure to have check boxes like in tanks so we can turn off the modes we don't enjoy playing. I.E. any mode other than standard battle. It's also hilarious you are taking away the lead reticle when new players are complaining already the game is too hard. All though, from what I am told, the game has auto aim in it, meaning if th ebullets are relatively close it counts as a hit regardless of the animation.

Sorry GP, we heard all of the the last time WG prematurely released this game. They were planning on/and promised different modes of play back then too, as well as clan wars. None of that materialized.

A big deal-breaker for me is respawn. There is no incentive to stay alive if you can just crash into a better pilot and get a new plane. Look at the positive responses regarding respawn in your formatted response thread. Most of them are players with a low battle count and low win rate. Of course respawn is appealing if you don't have experience or skills. What is their impetus to improve? They're respawning 'til they can't respawn anymore and feeling like they were a major contribution to their team. To endorse that view is ludicrous, and this "new direction" that 2.0 is taking does exactly that. Participation trophies and 1up's for all. SMH.

When you're dead, you're dead.

Regarding WoWP with this patch on the horizon....

Thank you Prime; however, isn't this a carrot WG has been waving for a long time? Wasn't there talk of a re-release of the current game mode? A new, and improved version to replace the disaster after 1.5 or 1.4 or whatever?

And I do not believe they were referring to the release of Conquest...

Release a complete game for once. Dity nailed it precisely. How many times were clan wars, and other modes and such been promised?  Contrary to what Persha thinks, many of the players here play other games. I play Origin games which I will not mention, and how bad 2.0 is circulating all throughout their dialogue. I'm sure it is the same in Activision, Blizzard, and many others. Information over here spreads like wildfire concerning other titles. They should do themselves a favor and release a complete game with multiple modes, end game content, and clan wars before they get torched in the gaming social media AGAIN.

 Superiority mode!!! Damn!! How ignorant...

They really think we are a very active little group who does not like this version 2.0.

Yes indeed Ghost, but a superiority mode already exists, that does not feel like such an arcade /console game or some Warthunderish clone with respawns (uuuurgh).

Make the current WoWP and the 2.0 run side by side, and see how many joyful pilots go to the new one with glee in their eyes.  I predict: not many.
