I was going to give feedback on the UI but really there is no in battle UI to speak of. I understand that the Devs want to streamline the UI and prevent information overload, but what they came up with is beyond the opposite extreme.

First off they went form what they thought was information overload, but what I found to be about right, to information deprivation. Information deprivation is in this game nearly as bad and dangerous as oxygen deprivation is in real life, you need both to survive in their respective world.

Aircraft health and damage areas are separated by half the screens width, the bar with you hit points is on the bottom center while the box that shows what systems are damaged is all the way in the bottom left corner. On larger monitors with higher resolutions this could make it so you have to physically turn your head to see everything you need to. The UI as it is on live is nearly perfect for placement, in that all the pertinent information is available at one glance instead of having to shift you focus to a second location to get everything you want/need to know.

Mini-map/radar. You can't really see anything when there is a large dogfight going on around you, everything is just a mass of color. Even when it's zoomed in as far as it goes you can't really see anything useful. Also with the new mini-map/radar you can't tell if the other planes are above, below or at your altitude. Keep the current mini-map and radar options, or at least give us same zoom and size options and altitude indicators for the target with the new one so we can actually see what is there. This is really true for joystick users that can't move the mouse to look around without using 2 hands. To look around effectively with a joystick you need 3 hands, one on the keyboard, one on the joystick and a third for the mouse.

Attitude indicator. Currently we have an indicator available that tells us the angle of the wings compared to the horizon, as well as the angle of pitch up or down. Very important information, especially when you're climbing and can not see the horizon. In 2.0 this has been removed entirely, there is no way to see what angle your wings or nose is to the horizon when you can not see the horizon.

Consumable icons, I can live with the new icon, it just takes some getting use to, BUT the new location is awkward at best. Move them, along with everything else in that lower left corner to the bottom center like it currently is.

Engine boost timer, this is the only thing i actually like about the new UI, if it's not there you have full boost, otherwise it tells you how much you have available.

Gun heat indicators. You should not have to push a key/button to see this information, it should always be displayed so you can manage it. The existing icon/color system is ideal for this information, keep it as is.

I can live with the lack of a lead indicator, it's not that hard to hit your target and adjusting your aim with the tracers is simple enough. But the new aiming recticle is horrible, please for all that is good in this world give us some options to change it. I like the larger size, but the visual is just awful and to me blurry.

I'm sure I missed something, I'll add to this thread as needed.

Sorry but, what do you expect after 5 years of constant WG failures. And ZERO communication between WG and NA players? Like a "SOON" lol.

on another side for example, just a very few planes had a radar during WW2. Talking about historical accuracy.

At this point who cares about historical accuracy, it was thrown out the window when they put in the altitude bands, weapon overheat in place of ammo, removed muzzle velocity, and made engines work all work the same and a plane only boosting horsepower. Now they have added in respawns, and ordnance reloading while in flight, so historical accuracy is laughable, and that goes for that other game as well.

:popcorn:I agree historical accuracy has never been in this game and there have been a lot of nerfing with many aircraft, The game dev's seem to be locked into arcade mode now with the 2.0 move, I hope they have been reading the feed back from the players this time.

Thank you for the feedback Hawk. there is a dev QA coming up due to player feedback on this subject. I'll post as soon as I have it, so be on the lookout for that.

I agree!

Maybe they could give the option to the player to have as little or as much as the player would like?  With the ability to place where on screen things are shown i.e. player customization?

Maybe I don't want a target window but someone wants one on the top right but not a radar. Would be nice to control what information I am given/find useful.

I don't mind the lack of lead indicator (I find it very inaccurate and mostly in the way in 1.9 anyhow)
