Well all of this now adds up to my understanding on update 2.0. This goes along with what Priola said here about the new update 2.0. At least we can understand it (update 2.0) will be a new battle mode and not a replacement for the current live update. I am very interested to see where this will leads us. I got to admit this maks me want to play update 1.9+ even more now. Nostalgia?

 

I still have a problem with the bots in update 2.0 if you are GAA. The flying bot top cover still does not have a backbone in keeping a sector secure after capture. Its like you have to keep going back and forth on the sites in capturing them over and over again. Its like having many spinning plates on poles and you have to keep them spinning all the time or failure happens. Is that the design? IDK.

Well perhaps there is hope, I was hoping the competition mode was pvp simply because these bots are just god awful

?  I read it as it is a replacement of current live 1.9.  However the underlying programming framework allows them to change the modes/conditions easier, with better control.

 

My immediate thoughts were, ok, fine, but fix the flight model closer to current, give us back some of the gui elements we currently have, and why make this the only mode off the bat?  Give us a standard death match like now along with this mode when released, as part of a random/rotational mix when we hit the battle button.

 

One of the biggest issues is their lack of explaining this is what they've been planning to do and why, instead of broadsiding us with minimal heads up and no reasoning for the direction or vision they're formulating.

The problem is not game mode...it's how gameplay has been fundamentally changed into what is seen in 2.0.

 

When much of the discussion on NA is less on the mode but the gameplay, flight mechanics in particular...

 

...and bots aren't programmed with tactics...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

Yep.  The current game will end once 2.0 comes out.  2.0 will have a single mode to start.  They may bring the current back in the future.

 

Hopefully once 2.0 is released, it comes with everything we have been asking for.
