Talk to me like I don't know anything about this game. What's the best line to start with?

Is the P-40 one of the worst planes in this game? If I fight other fighters, i seem to always lose. I feel like all i can combat is heavy fighters and attack.

I have had previous clan members tell me to get a better plane at T5 than the P-40. Problem is I've always loved the plane and its history. In all fairness it did take me quite a while to learn to fly it effectively but once there, it becomes a true menace to many of its competition. The firepower with all 6 .50s is flat out awesome in T5.  Just remember to stay high as long as you can; this thing is no turn fighter, speed is your ally use it.

Low to mid tier on Japanese lines are probably about as near to actual capabilities of the real things: great maneuverability, decent engines, big guns, and low survival rate when hit (can be dispatched with well thrown empty drink cans). this feature alone put me off the line after 1 flight in T1.

I had trouble with the P-40, then an old time player and friend, wolfblitz showed me how to properly fly it and use its speed. Keeping the P-40 high and fast and it is as competitive as any plane in its tier.
