Finally got the Vulcan after a gazillion games and total buggering of my stats....I am still not fond of this plane being baffled as to what to do with it...chase heavies? The opt. altitude is a bit low for that...tangle with lights? Usually ends in grief when the target your stock 20's can't quite finish get on your tail...(btw the middle twenties are not so hot either)...without the final engine (which I don't have) the lights can pretty much match you in speed or alt which means you spend a lot of time trying to evade....

I sure hope the vulcan and the final engine make for a magical transformation!

Get the Mighty Mouse, spec your pilot for it, slap on ordnance sight, become the noobtube...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

One of the best tier 9 planes in the game, stick with it and you will come to appreciate it immensley.

This has been my favorite plane over the past few months.

Get the engine, set up your upgrades and pilot skills for speed maneuverability boosts. Also for aiming and rocket aim.

I fly it almost the same as a HF. I have chased up good players flying XF-90's and 262 HG III's caught and killed them with the amount of speed and boost I have in this thing.  The range on the Vulcan is roughly 1000m, and is far beyond the what lead indicator would like you to believe is out of range.  That is why the accuracy equipment and skills are important.

I also have the female pilot, which I believe adds to the boost.

Rockets are OP about 50% of the time, they seem inconsistent, but still many more rocket kills than I had prior to the buff.  Mounting the rockets doesn't affect maneuverability that much, but you wont be turn fighting in this thing.

Don't forget you can take out 4 -16 point ships with the 4 rocket salvos (with female pilot) It can turn the tide of a battle or buy you more time to search for hiding GA.

You ALWAYS max engines first...

Unless it's a GA or something, but I don't fly those

Used to be 4 rockets at a time per salvo but in the patch that buffed the rockets it also changed the salvos to 6 rockets at a time.

Correct, prior to the buff, I was able to take out 6 - 16 point ships with the 6 salvos.  Since the butt, I have barely used them for GT, which is a bit of a waste for the female pilot skill.  But she is still great for the engine boost.  + I have worked her up to 12/15 skill points.

Not sure that my advice is any better or worse than anyone else's, but when I finally got mine, the first thing I did was get top engine first. This thing is built for SPEED!

Believe it or not, the last thing I upgraded was the Vulcan.

Equipment: Engine Tuning, Lightweight Airframe, and Ordnance sight.

Skills: Engine Guru I &II, Aerodynamics Expert, Expert Rocketeer, and Cruise Flight.

Tactics: High altitude, horizontal BnZ. Keep turns to minimum, and ALWAYS keep your speed up.

This aircraft IS fast, so the engine would be a good choice for the first upgrade, then the guns. (Unless you are good at using rockets effectively)

It's a solid plane, and yes the top engine and gun make the plane, so don't judge until you have all the pieces, you should never judge a plane until it's fully equipped.

(I've made this mistake several times, but with 200 planes give or take, I've learned to reserve misgivings for all the upgrades)

Experience only counts when you're doing it right in the first place.
