Howdy, your friendly neighborhood interweb Chokai here. I remember reading in another thread this, but I haven't seen it posted. So please do this. Use this to run the game:

Do NOT use GameCenter for anything but updates. I finally went to my files and did this. Low and behold, my Ping went from random 130-180 oscillations, my packet loss no longer has random 30%, 50%, and 100% episodes, and the frame rate somehow improved.

I have no idea how any of that changed, but it did. Suddenly, I get why people like the I-211 now that I can connect with it. Suddenly I remember why Derp guns are fun. Because they are possible to connect with now!

The (not so) amazing Chokai is back! And he's hit all his personal goals sans one! Seriously though, nice to be back, looks like he game is improving. I continue to try to recruit new people.

Tried that again and no change, still got crazy packet loss.

Why cant they fix this?

Well known fact they have serious packet loss on a lot of the servers they use and PP shows it.

All this started the day they launched the launcher and no....I dont use it.

What if you start WOWP with game center, and then close the game center tab after?

Same thing.

It's not the launcher,it's their server in redwood California and one in Virginia as well as a few other they use causing the packet loss.

So I uninstalled razerboost as I remember it giving me problems when the launcher came out and I uninstalled and reinstalled it 6 times and it still caused me problems and just flew the first match and no packet loss and ping at 70 so maybe I solved the mystery that has been eluding me and others since the last bad patch....like there was any good ones.

Will try a few more.

Nope,packet loss jumping from 30 to 80.ping at 114

Oh well.

For me it still works as bad as when GC is running, but it seems different things work for different people. Weirdest game i've ever seen like this. So it might work for you.

Not sure why it worked for me and not for you. I will admit to occassionally getting packet loss still, but I was hitting 30%+ at least every 5 seconds before. It's why I dropped the game again for a time.

No problem, happy to help. Like I said, I didn't discover it, but it was buried in another thread and wanted to spread the word.

Edit- Quoting is messing up.

You can go a step further and create a shortcut of the executable (right click on the .exe file) and place it in your desktop. Saves time having to click through the wowp directory. But really I mean just to make this game work...? Players shouldn't even be going through all these hassles just to run one game. More scenarios of "Shooting yourself in the foot"

Best solution for WG: Delete WGC and go back to the old launcher. It clearly sucks.

Horrible tonight when I tried playing with pl fluctuating from 10 to 100% every few seconds.

But the few matches I did get in I got called a nazi for no reason, thought I was at an anti trump rally on the next few games on the chat.

I take it these are snowflake tanker gamers that are about all that are left playing this game.....365 online when I logged off 10 minutes ago.

hax hax hax....no it's lag lag lag.

Oh well..this kinda sucks. Was looking to improve my ping and packet loss anyway possible since I don't have good internet to begin with. Glad it works for a couple of people though.

Don't forget, just closing the game center does not actually stop it running.   You have to open the task manager and kill it that way.    You will see two process's, the wgc  and wgc watchdog.

This is 100% true, tho i find that this work around is only 90% effective.

if i don't use GC and i make sure it is also dead in the task manager, then i only get this packet loss problem about 1 game in 10 instead of most the time, and it is generally less severe when it does happpen.

But even doing this, i still always get disconnected from the server during the drop in screen of my first battle of a gaming session (re-logging back in at the start of the battle seems to fix that for the rest of the time i stay logged in tho, tho i am usually dead in my first battle by then, which is really sucky)
