I made this short video to illustrate how even a low-altitude turn fighter can kill heavy fighters at altitude.

So just because you're in an F3F, A5M, or an I-16, grab as much altitude as you can at the start of the match, and use all of that potential energy to your advantage.

Heavies are not the big bad boogeymen that everyone shivers in terror at.

Watch, learn, and practice.

See y'all in the skies!

Great video and sage advice to always get as much altitude as possible in any aircraft your in...

That being said I've always held the opinion that heavy's are not OP but rather its the pilots in them case in point the first heavy you bagged did not have his wits about him and dove on the first thing he saw not to mention he didn't get the proper altitude he should have and so that and not paying attention to the more immediate threat being you and having no escape plane in advance he fell to your superior tactics.......:great:

Heavies can be defeated with skilled play like this, or

other tactics like using the superiority counter or terrain,

The reason though why so many fly heavies sometimes

to the exclusion of other planes is that it takes less skill to win.  Fly high,

dive, shoot and repeat, speed and altitude give a significant

advantage where the player in the heavy can chose when

to engage and withdraw where they can't be reached.  Players

used to them can get so used to easy wins that when they

fly fighters there not used to having to keep situational awareness,

lose games then go back to heavy planes where they are

more "skilled"

Yes , you are right, any plane can be defeated if one plays smart.

But if you use this tactic in the higher tiers, there is a big chance you're toast.

Planes doesn't win the battles (game).

Pilots (gamers) do.
