o7 all,

I was looking to see what line I should go down using the Compare Aircraft section of the website, and I noticed that the Gloster Javelin seemed to be MUCH better than the Messerschmitt 262 HG.III, in hit points, firepower, speed, etc. I know that the Messerschmitt 262 line's gun deals more damage. Can someone explain to me what balances the Javelin with the other tier X heavy fighters? Thanks.

I have found in my experience that the stats lie about the javelin.  The hg3 is better in every single aspect.  I also find that at altitude even an xf90 can turn with one.  I hate flying the javelin and if not for it completing my heavy fighter collection, I wouldn't own one.  I would honestly stop grinding the british heavy line at the 1056 if I had it to do over again.

The British Heavy Fighter line is my favorite of all HF's personally, they're very well balanced and have tremendous firepower. I would agree with cqiyuan here though about the guns, they're a pain but i've been doing significantly better than I have in the past. It doesn't seem to hold it's speed as well as the HGIII or the XF-90 because it's so heavy too. And in shallow dives it doesn't pick up speed very quickly like the others do.

I'd also agree with Jetway. The stats definitely lie about the Javelin quite a bit. It's not as maneuverable as the HGIII but competes easily against the XF-90. I have yet to figure out how to take HG's down easier with it.

P.S. btw Jetway the XF-90 has the worst turning stat in all the heavy fighters so that's not surprising

Overall man, it's an epic plane along with it's predecessors but it has it's weaknesses for sure. I have 56 battles in it and i still suck in it so don't worry. you're not alone

Anyone remember that when muzzle velocity existed, the HG3's revolver 30mms was the worst, that people back in HG2 opted for 20mms and never the top 30mm. The ADEN that the Javelin boasts has much better velocity.

...and Javelin is gigantic compared to the HG3 and not as sleek as the XF-90...

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...

^^^ This

The Javelin's big delta wing is so bloody huge, it's a much easier target to hit than any of the other heavies.

This. Never played the Brit heavies, but the velocity normalizing screwed over ALOT of planes.

The (not so) amazing Chokai is back! And he's hit all his personal goals sans one! Seriously though, nice to be back, looks like he game is improving. I continue to try to recruit new people.

Well, it went outta the window when altitude band was introduced and it all went downhill from there...

i love the tier 9 and 10 British heavies, but the summary stats are misleading because they are really stat composites (not quite averages of stat groups). when you look at things like boost duration, gun accuracy, gun overheat time, roll and turn rate (as opposed to the maneuverability rating), things look a LOT different in terms of what plane is superior in which way.

Hello! Welcome to World of Warplanes!

A lot of it comes down to opinion, and play style that fits. The German line is powerful and very popular.

Play style yes, but more than anything aircraft performance.  The German line is basically the 'Easy Mode" and people can learn a play style of get high and stall bots.  The Javelin, can outperform the HG III, however it is a lot harder to learn.  You have to keep it moving fast, if you just try and climb against an HG III you will become sluggish and stall like everyone else.

The Javelin and XF90 are great planes, but are a lot harder to learn that the HG III.
