Here is the one possible prize aircraft I've acquired during the Thor's Hammer event.  To say she's odd looking is an understatement as this aircraft is easily the least conventional design at her tier or any other.  A body consisting only of pilot cabin riding closely upon the engine itself and its daggerlike wings end in pods that sport boxcutter blades.  When fully upgraded she has a powerful Heinkel 01 series engine and a pair of the Me.262HGII's 20mm cannons.  Also, those wings can house a pair of upgraded tier VIII WGr 210mm rockets or 24 of the 55mm R4M.  She's armed to the teeth and wouldn't look out of place in a starfighter game setting or movie.

The aircraft itself has similarities to the Focke Wulfe line and the IJN Shindens, a strange pairing.  Like the Focke Wulfe aircraft the BV's best speed is in a straight line and she has a powerful boost, appearing to be a decent climber despite the lower service ceiling that the new aircraft suffers from.  Like the Shindens she has a powerful cannon in either configuration but it does overheat quickly, depending on good gunnery for a single pass kill.  Unlike both the Shinden and the FWs, the BV brings a lot of R4M rockets to the fight, and can outright destroy any aircraft that gives the BV a straight shot either head or tail on.

Though small and a hard target to hit, the BV (Or "Goblin" as I've nicknamed this series of aircraft for their passing resemblance to the American Goblin parasite fighter meant to be carried by B-36 Peacemaker strategic bombers.) is a fighter of weak constitution, having just a hair more health than the 209A and being completely outclassed by the Ta.152.  She's also slower than both, depending on using built up energy and boost to make an escape from either of its German competitors and many from the other nations as well.  The German Goblin is an aircraft that benefits a lot from good teamwork and particularly benefits from flighting up with a "cover" aircraft that keeps her cleared so her guns are free to melt the enemy whenever they're not overheating.  A Goblin caught without support should be eliminated quickly because of how dangerous it can be if allowed to be.

A fun note on the Goblin; if the German aviatrix is retrained to the BV-P.210 and you can reliably trigger her head-on attack damage multiplier, the DPS of your guns and the instant damage of your rockets goes up to stupid levels of awesome.  Worth giving a try if you have her and she is still trained for the Bf.110E.

Good hunting!  :honoring:

Thanks Magus!

You blew my mind... I didnt know you could pull out separate windows of aircraft details in-game to compare them.

Here are some of my battles:

Thanks for the overview, Mag.

I have been drooling over this series of aircraft ever since I saw the Tech Tree, and spent a good minute and a half trying to hit the tiny, nimble little sucker with my Seafang (I've started flying my FW 190D again in preparation for researching this plane once the event is over).

I am especially intrigued by the Tier X P.215, which sports four 20mm cannons, with the added bonus of a pair of 13mm tail guns. The REAL eye opener, however was seeing 56 R4M rockets alongside a quartet of the 210mm rockets....wow, 60 rockets.....quite impressive.

Once again, thanks for the closer look (and thanks to MARS for giving me a REALLY close look at those rockets!!).

Nice job Magus on the write up. Excellent job George Patton for making that zvonarev look easy and the plane fun to fly. cant wait to try it.ompa

One thing about the comparison of the BV210 to the other planes. The firepower of the TA152 was stock when you compared it. In top configuration, the TA152 boasts firepower over 500.

That's right.  An oversight that rests completely on me; my Ta.152 is fully researched, as is my Me.209A, but the numbers the game generated for them reflected stock condition.  At least most of my commentary on how the Goblin weighs up against her competition rings true; a fragile but dangerous aircraft that either needs to be escorted or completely ignored by the enemy to do its dirtywork.  :playing:

No worries, informative videos as always. Yet another screw up on their end.
