I know I am getting old and my eyes are not what they used to be, but this has happened to me more than a few times and I just want to know if others had this happen to them.  Maybe it is also an optical illusion that I am getting pulled into the wall.  You tell me if this is just me flying into the wall or if the wall comes out and grabs me.

Or maybe a weird camera perspective optical illusion thing?  It does kinda look like you got sucked towards the wall though.

Looking at the replay from a different angle might provide some more insight.

Kinetic energy

In physics, the kinetic energy of an object is the energy that it possesses due to its motion. It is defined as the work needed to accelerate a body of a given mass from rest to its stated velocity. Having gained this energy during its acceleration, the body maintains this kinetic energy unless its speed changes.

Interesting. I too would like to see the replay on this one. A different angle would help to see what is going on.

Once I made the video, I deleted the replay.  I am pretty sure I can do that over and over on that map flying the same path.

Edit:  Just flew that same path another 5 times and made it through each time without crashing.  Not sure what happened that first time but I can't duplicate it as easy as I thought I could.

When you are flying on edge like that, the airplane still wants to fly up even though up is sideways, so it will tend to pull towards the pilot's side if you are on edge.

Don't know if I ever noticed this one.

It takes skill to fly your IL into the hill

I have notified our resident WoWP Specialist about it. Let me/us know if you encounter it again.

It looks like your plane got sucked into the wall.

Fly a few IL'S myself never had that happen.

Fly that map a lot never had that happen.

But the real Question, why is a Drac in an IL? :D

LOL:D

If you look carefully at your cursor (the other circle aside from the reticle on your screen) you can see that your mouse gave an upward input (whether or not you intended it) causing you to fly into the cliff.

Dat nose

knows does doe

I checked the weather that day for the area of that battle and see they were experiencing down drafting and wind shears in excess of 75 mph... perhaps your flight crew and maybe your flight commander might have kept you informed of prevailing conditions... jus' sayin'

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

This is why I do not like the ground avoidance, I would like to be able to turn it off... that is all that it is... you can avoid this collision, but you will need practice with it, it also happens if you try to go under a low bridge in a fighter, one of my favorite maneuvers if you have a fighter that is right on you butt, but due to the ground avoidance I have stopped using it ( maybe they will fix it?)

I used to have that happen in earlier patches, especially when diving near the ground. I'd start leveling off about 30 meters from the deck and boom I would be sucked into the ground. I haven't seen that in awhile.
